Perfect group retreat!

5 of 5
After making a few wrong turns we finally found the quiet, fairly secluded Guiones Beach club and the stunning Paloma Azul. The place completely exceeded expectations! Each room had its own private bath and A/C, fan and beautiful high cathedral ceilings. The outdoor combination living "room" and kitchen were a treat to have as a communal area for games, yoga, breakfast, lunch, and general lounging. The set up was perfect for our group of ladies wanting some privacy and relaxation and possibly often times operating different schedules. The beach is a short walk down a private path making it easy to come and go as you please. The walk into "town" is a bit longer by road but a beautiful stroll on the beach gives you access to all the various access points to restaurants, shops, etc. Being on the southern end of Nosara made it feel more private yet accessible - a fantastic combination. Nosara is quite clearly a special place and the secret (if there was one) is out. It appears that the lots surrounding Paloma Azul are for sale, so the feeling of being tucked away may indeed change in years to come. We loved the staff, especially Bernando and Elena, the chef. They were professional and always available for all of our requests without ever feeling intrusive. We wanted to take them with us :) Lulu the dog was so sweet and would greet us coming "home" on our walks up from the beach. Truly a wonderful retreat.

Fantastic property with a very involved owner!

5 of 5
Gorgeous property with great views and all the amenities of home. Safe neighborhood only minutes from a wonderful beach and great rstaurants. Suitable for families with tons of room and for older couples like ourselves. Peaceful and quiet but only 15 minutes from the more active tourist attraction of Plya Del Cocco that has even more restaurants, dive shops and all other water sport activites along with a modern grocery store equivelent to a high-end Safeway. The property was exceptionally clean and well stocked with the basics and managed by a local firm that is responsive to your every need. Dirk, the State side owner cares. He provides you with all the local information you will need and makes recommendations for car rentals and other necessities before you travel. Likewise, he follows up upon your return to be sure you noticed nothing that mighgt effect the comfort or enjoyment of the guests that will follow you. Loved the daily visits of th iguana who arrive late in the afternoon to feed on the hibiscus flowers and the ocassional commuincation of nearby howler monkeys. If you want to experience Costa Rica at its finest, this is the place to stay. Be sure to make reservations at Roberto's on the beach since they will ensure a great table and great food just steps from the beach. We highly recommend this property to anyone considering a trip to Costa Rica. It really is special.

Playa Grande Greatness

5 of 5
Only the highest praise for Casa Bonita! Featuring a 40x24 pool with all day all afternoon sun or shade when you need to hide out the property borders an environmentally protected seashore for nesting turtles. Beautiful landscaping offered privacy for us and refuge for passing parrots, owls, hawks, finches, magpies and others. This is the perfect beach house. Great amenities indoors and out that are barefoot friendly. Just 140 paces to the ocean and a long, broad sandy beach ideal for boogie boards, surfing and swimming. After sunset, Bonita is peaceful. Visit one of the few tiki bars within walking distance for big screen sports and reggae. Plus: daily pool service, twice per week housekeeping, a well equipped kitchen, the superbly stocked Auto Mercato grocery store 30 minutes drive in Tamarindo. Quick, cheap boat rides to Tamarindo are available during the daytime for just a buck should you run out of Cointreau for your watermelon margheritas. Enjoy!
