Great place to stay in Esterillos

4 of 5
We had 3 adults and 3 kids in our group and this house was a great, comfortable place to stay. My kids loved the bunk bed room. The house is located about 10 to 15 minutes away from a very relaxed, quiet beach and there are plenty of little markets to stock up on essentials. The property manager met us at the closest gas station and led us to the house. The house is way back in a gated, security patrolled neighborhood that's a bit of a maze, we managed to take a wrong turn everytime we were coming or going. It's very secluded, which is really cool. You can't hear or see any other houses from this location. Overall the house is very well maintained, luxurious, and a great place to stay.

This location was perfect

5 of 5
House was perfect, clean, great location if you want the true Costa Rican feel. Daniel was more than happy to help us with excursions off the beaten path. Beach was a great walk, not crowded and safe. Local restaurants were very good. We had six adults who enjoyed morning animals, birds and lizards. Pool was cleaned twice during our stay and housekeeping came once. Toilets were not an issue ( that's how it's done in Costa Rica, it's okay). We really enjoyed the pool. The house could use some up keep with the swing, two chairs outside and the stove which is a little temperamental. Otherwise great place, definitely need a car. Thank you Daniel and Chloe.

Something for all ages!

5 of 5
We rented the house from 12/25/13 to 12/31/13. The house had everything need for all ages. My 4 year old son loved the pool which was 3.5 feet deep. We spent mornings with coffee, lunch from the grill and pre-dinner drinks out there. Never found pizza dough, so you may want to try and bring your own to use the wood fire oven by the pool. My 70 year old father liked the privacy of the master suite to read and do sudoku. He was unable to get the television to work up there, but the downstairs television allowed him to watch three Sunday football games in English. The house had two great lower bedrooms. The location to the Pacific highway allowed us to hit the great national parks quickly. The beach was 5 minutes away. It was the best beach we had ever been to. There were people there sound all kinds of activities, but it was never crowded. There are great restaurants 5 minutes away. The place next to the gas station Sin Rival had great breakfast and the beach restaurant owned by the Canadian woman had awesome fish and Thai dishes. The house had all the cooking and dining comforts needed. The house did have some water pressure issues due to the tourism season, but the reserve tank never left us dry. The house did say that it had a DVD player, do we brought some kids movies, but there was not one. The rooster next door also was a bit annoying since he could not tell time, but we survived. Overall, the pool, location to sites and the beach were the stars, but we felt that the house and the amenities really made the entire package complete. Patrick was a tremendous neighbor, but understand that he has a life and family, so be prepared to solve small problems yourself. When we come back and we will, we hope this house is still a place we can call our home in paradise.
