Nature at its best!

5 of 5
We were so happy to have chosen to stay with the Hughes again. Their service is just great: friendly, helpful, clean and spacious rooms, nice fruit, enough parking, wonderful new swimming pool just for us!, beautiful construction details and a superb garden. This is what the Hughes offer in their lovely paradise corner. Nature does its part too: tucans, parrots, sloths, monkeys, and an uncountable number of other birds come every morning and evening to their private forest...quite spectacular. Views from the terrace to the magnificient Pacific Ocean which is just 5 minutes away by car. Their location is great as you have privacy.. you are practically in the forest but with the convenience that all you need is just at hand reach. Uvita itself is a wonder on Earth. We have always seen dolphins and whales on our trips there...you may call it luck! The beaches are really nice: sand, palm trees...no horrible tall buildings at the shore! this place is still what my beautiful country used to be like 20 or 30 years ago...nature at its best! Hope you can enjoy it and take care of it when you visit it...it is worth a visit!

Tropical Paradise!!

5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay in Jack's Villa. The house is located up in the mountains, but only a short drive from Dominical. It was the best of two worlds, close to the beach, parks and restaurants, yet in a very private setting with spectacular views. After a full day of exploring we would return to the villa to grill our dinner and take in the sunset and soak in the pool. The house was very clean and modern and perfectly set up for 2 couples. Josh, the property manager, was great!! He was available to answer any questions or solve problems. He provided us with detailed written information on all the beaches in the area, restaurant recommendations and excursions to go on. We followed his advise and was not disappointed. We arrived in Dominical after sunset famished. He met us on the main road with a pizza and led us up the mountain to the house, so sweet. We had a magical time in this part of Costa Rica. Would definitely stay at Jack's villa again and recommend it to all our friends

Luxury in the Jungle

5 of 5
Just returned from a week at Casa Buendia and it lived up to its promises of providing luxury, family-friendly accommodations in an undeveloped part of Costa Rica. We visited with six adults and three toddlers (3 years old) and everyone loved it. There was plenty of room in the house and the kids loved the pool. Also, Erick and Yelba were fantastic, giving us tours of the property and helping out with little questions. The house is also well-located. After a five minute drive down the mountain (4x4 a must!), you're minutes from Playa Hermosa (wonderful swimming beach) and Playa Dominical (fascinating surfer town). Drive a little further south and you're in Uvita - great grocery store, health clinic, and home to beautiful national park with stunning beaches. We never lacked for things to do. Quick tips - while the water in the home isn't potable, we had no trouble getting water from the local groceries and no one in our party ever got sick. Erick and Yelba were also able to provide air mattresses for the kids so they could sleep in the rooms with the parents - worked great. Finally, the house was an easy 3 hour drive from San Jose; however, on our trip there, the Caldera Highway was closed unexpectedly and it took about 4 hours and 30 minutes to get there (but we had a surprise tour of rural Costa Rica!).
