I can't say enough positive things about Storm & Amy's villa. It is exactly as advertised, kitchen is well-stocked, including decent bath & beach towels (none of those tiny, scratchy white ones here!). The views are amazing, I could have sat out on the deck all day but there were too many fun things to do in the area. We saw toucans, monkeys, lizards and tons of other birds right from the deck. We also hiked farther up the road into the rainforest early in the morning and saw lots of poison dart frogs. Having a private pool was fantastic - our kids could swim as much as they liked while we were making meals or whatever, instead of a community pool where we'd have to chaperone them. Amy & Storm left us with several suggestions on beaches / restaurants, as well as recommendations for activities. Highly recommend Sunset Surf for surf lessons & the Nauyaca Falls horseback trip. I would stick with the beaches they recommend, they were all great. One day we went to the Marino Ballena National Park beach (which was not on their list). Although the beach was visually awesome, the vibe there was a little unpleasant - police patrolling the beach and some locals eyeing our stuff a little too closely. There are too many other nice beaches that are free with a more relaxed vibe. Playa Ventanas was awesome, be prepared to pay a German guy who lives there about $5 to park, but it's worth it. The villa has 3 AC units, one in each bedroom and one on the main level, so we found that we only needed to run the bedroom ACs at night, the rest of the time, we could just open the doors & windows. The location is fantastic, walking distance to Dominicalito beach and a waterfall with a swimming hole, and just a short drive to other beaches & restaurants. We ate at several of the restaurants Amy & Storm recommended, including their own Jolly Roger (great, friendly staff & awesome views!), Tortilla Flats, PorQueNo, La Parcela and Sabor Espanol to name a few. It is the tropics and sometimes things don't work as consistently as in the US (water, power, WIFI, etc), but the few minor occurrences didn't impact our trip. I've lived and worked in a lot of tourist destinations and I can honestly say the local population in this part of CR is friendlier and more laid back than anywhere else I've traveled. They truly are living the Pura Vida!

This place has it all. Beautiful surroundings, impeccable decor, panoramic views. Didier and Carolina are wonderful and their help in keeping the grounds spic and span is appreciated. The doors are all hardwood, so even if you are staying with other families it is quiet and private. The road up there is steep but well-maintained. There is a great bar/restaurant a short walk away with great burgers, wings, and drinks. Only 45 minutes to Manuel Antonio. Wildlife in the trees. We loved it! Great for kids!

We enjoyed our time SO MUCH in the Dominical beach villa over New Year's. The property is actually better than the photos! We were very comfortable and safe and had lots to do in the area. When we came back in the late afternoon from hiking or the beach, we could relax on the outdoor patio and enjoy the view, the birds, butterflies and one time - the monkeys! The house was very clean and had everything you needed in the kitchen as well. TV and WiFi worked great. We did have one issue of water pressure going low and then going out completely - apparently this happens from time to time but it was only temporary and came back fine. Elaine was very easy to work with and responsive and our deposit was returned within a few days. The beaches all along the main road are awesome and the closest beach to the villa - Dominicalita was so nice to swim in and the sunsets are spectacular. We took a quad tour, whale/snorkel tour and hiked the reserves. All within 30 miles of the house. I would book this place again in a minute!
