A Tropical Paradise

5 of 5
The description was accurate but understated. I loved the bathrooms and the general decor. Upon our arrival we found fresh fruit and the refrigerator stocked with eggs, coffee, beer, and all essentials to get you started. We walked the trail behind the house and the tropical plants were amazing. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained. They responded quickly and the booking was very easy from start to finish. Jason and Victoria were very helpful and recommend restaurants and local activitities. I even tried Victoria's favorite, basil parm wings at Jolly Rodgers. One morning about 20 howler monkeys visited us outside the kitchen window. One of the females was carrying her baby on here back. We walked up the hill to the hotel and restaurant and saw a tree loaded with toucans. This was a very tranquil place to stay. Thank you Jason and Victoria.

Authentic mountain top paradise

5 of 5
We visited in April, a perfect time of year to showcase all the beauty this home has to offer. The entire lot is beautifully fenced in (secure windows as well), which was great peace of mind and added security for long days at the beach. The inside is upgraded, fans in each room perfect for sticky Costa Rican evenings, all necessities included, directional notes were great and helped ensure we knew where everything was located and how to use all appliances. Looking out the back covered patio was breath taking, toucans in the palms, pineapples growing all around, glistening clear blue pool, an array of vibrantly colored flowers, forested mountain tops and a lit walkway all the way down to the outdoor veranda (outdoor shower was awesome!). The property was maintained regularly by the friendly groundskeeper, which kept it looking beautiful throughout our one week stay. As if the place couldn't get any better, there is the most beautiful waterfall just a short 5 minute walk down the river around the backyard! A relaxing location to kick back and take in your surroundings... A short drive down the beautiful mountain, past the local eateries (take your pick, its not far to some amazing local restaurants) and your at the friendly surf town of dominical. If you're looking for a location that has the comforts of home while offering the authentic experience of being abroad, this is the place to stay! Already planning our next trip out for April of 2015! Thank you for having us :)

Nature at its best!

5 of 5
We were so happy to have chosen to stay with the Hughes again. Their service is just great: friendly, helpful, clean and spacious rooms, nice fruit, enough parking, wonderful new swimming pool just for us!, beautiful construction details and a superb garden. This is what the Hughes offer in their lovely paradise corner. Nature does its part too: tucans, parrots, sloths, monkeys, and an uncountable number of other birds come every morning and evening to their private forest...quite spectacular. Views from the terrace to the magnificient Pacific Ocean which is just 5 minutes away by car. Their location is great as you have privacy.. you are practically in the forest but with the convenience that all you need is just at hand reach. Uvita itself is a wonder on Earth. We have always seen dolphins and whales on our trips may call it luck! The beaches are really nice: sand, palm horrible tall buildings at the shore! this place is still what my beautiful country used to be like 20 or 30 years ago...nature at its best! Hope you can enjoy it and take care of it when you visit is worth a visit!
