Tranquility

5 of 5
Myself, partner and another couple who are good friends rented this charming, rustic home that was nestled in a forested area by a brook. The house had many windows, all overlooking the surrounding property, where one could watch the beautiful fall leaves drifting down and take in the sunlight filtering in through the trees. We had a lovely stay. The bedrooms were very comfortable and airy as was the living room and dining room areas and the kitchen was well-equipped for all of our preparation of meals. One of my personal pleasures was listening to the brook at night, which was a lullabye to me and I three nights of restful, uninterrupted sleep, which was a luxury to me. The surrounding area is quite breath-taking and the Audubon Center down the road from the house, has great nature trails and we went on a bird watching walk with the members there and they were very personable, informative, and accommodating and it was one of the highlights of the weekend. If you love nature and hiking and art, this is an ideal area. We look forward to staying in this country hide-away again in the near future.

Nestled in...

Hidden by the trees from the highway and from the neighbors, this comfortable, cozy and welcoming house made our summer vacation a relaxing retreat. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances and facilities for dinners from barbecue to gourmet The interior aesthetic of the house has been carefully planned with great taste in a form of understated country elegance. The collage of color selection, furniture diversification and tasteful appointments creates a wonderful environment. We enjoyed it so much we booked an early return. It looks much better in person than even in the best photos...it exudes warmth. The area of Connecticut is delightful with area festivals and fairs during the summer. The local stores and restaurants are charming and original...not national chains...
