Best of Both Worlds

5 of 5
Really happy with the stay at this cottage. My girlfriend and I just wanted to come getaway from the city for the weekend, and this was the perfect place for us. All of the pictures accurately represent the property. It really was perfect for what we were looking for; a base to use as we went out and about, but spacious and comfortable enough to just stay in if we wanted. This place is more than enough if you're looking for a longer stay as well The place is almost all windows on the lower floor so it's great to even just cook breakfast in the morning and look out up onto the ridge behind the property. It was very relaxing and serene. It's the best of both worlds. It's very secluded, but close to just about anything you need. If you want to go hiking, it's literally 100 yards from the trail that takes you to a Hudson River Overlook. We were able to hike about 4 miles, get in a few wine tastings, and still had time left over to cook dinner and unwind. Place was very clean and well maintained, and the owner is very responsive. All in all, we definitely plan on staying again. Was a great experience

Picture Perfect.

This house is delightful. It simply didn't feel like a 'rental'. It felt like we had come home. Comfortable, spotless and exquisitely furnished - we spent a wonderful month here. The grounds are as beautiful as the house - the kids loved the pool, the trampoline, the hoop and the butterflies! Lisa's unparalleled taste is in evidence everywhere, indoors and out and she was incredibly helfpul, responsive and proactive regarding any questions or concerns we had. The house is within walking distance of what is quite possibly the best supermarket I've shopped in! Pick up some artisanal cheese at Plum Plums, a bottle of wine at PR Wine & Spirits and some peppery arugula at the farmers market - all in the village! It was perfect for spending some fun family time together and for inviting friends up from the city for a BBQ and a swim. We thought long and hard about sharing our recommendation - after all, we want this to be available for us next summer!!

Heaven an Hour from NYC

We stayed at this house for a month this fall and had a wonderful time. The yard, flowers, privacy was more than we had expected. A family of turkeys graced the yard every morning and our children delighted in the birds, squirrels, rabbits, deer, baby fox all frolicking through the yard or watching them through the windows. It was like being at a nature center. We were 5 minutes from everything that we needed and there were lots of museums, gardens, parks, playgrounds all within a very short drive. With no shortage of things to do the time really flew. The house was in immaculate condition with new kitchen appliances lots of space and plenty of light. It was quiet and surrounded by trees that must be over a 100 years old. If you want a respite from city life, you can't beat this house. We have already booked a month next year.
