'A Little Piece of Heaven'

5 of 5
'A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN' 5 of 5 Our daughter and new son-in-law chose Mystic, Ct for their wedding venue this past September. Our family and friends rented both Carriage Houses and also the Captain William Morgan Main house from Sue. Our experience was nothing short of amazing!! Each carriage house was intimate, inviting, fresh and clean. Wonderful full-sized bathrooms, (amazing considering the size of the cottages), and again, so well taken care of. The backyard of the carriage houses are a lovely, perfect place to relax on an evening with bistro tables, flowers, and a fire pit. That brings me to the large main house, which with a few steps on a well worn path between the carriage house location, is right next door. Stepping into the gorgeous large backyard and up to the porch of the Captain William Morgan. With this property, Sue has again kept the best of the old home features while offering an extremely clean, comfortable, inviting home which has every convenience you could ask for! Filled with light, this property welcomes you home while encouraging you to throw that wonderful "Night Before the Wedding" dinner~which is just what we did!! How special it was to be able to host all of our dear friends and family to such a beautiful spot on such a special occasion! The backyard is over-sized for such an in town location, fire pit here also, and watching folks kayak on the water from the large back porch was an unexpected treat. Thank you SO much to Sue who answered EVERY question we had....from "Who could cater a barbecue there?" (Chesters in Groton was Fantastic!) to table rentals, (Arrow Rental in New London) We were able to create a wonderful, memorable experience. Thank you Sue for the many little things you did, such as loaning me those extra tablecloths!! Just for that weekend, she made us feel as though this really was 'our place'! The ability to walk two tenths of a mile to the downtown/drawbridge area was a luxury~We highly recommend the Engine Room for any festivities,(that is if you can bear to leave!) Recommend this? But, of course!!!

Exceptional in every way

5 of 5
This was the second time we stayed here, and it probably won't be the last. It's a spacious, extremely well-maintained home within a short walking distance to the town, including the Seaport area. Great little architectural details throughout, and incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Nice big kitchen and dining areas to accommodate larger families as well. The owner was great to deal too, very pleasant and helpful. If you're considering coming to Mystic, you will not go wrong with this home.

Amazing Getaway!

5 of 5
Our weekend in Mystic was picture perfect...from our initial contact with the owner, to the house and its comfortable, homey feel and exquisite furnishings, to the stunning view of the river...nothing could have been better. The owner is very easy to work with. He is helpful and courteous and very enthusiastic about his property. We felt at home in this beautiful space with the sunrise over the river every morning, tea on the dock, the beautiful walks into town, vineyards close by and dinner and giggles around the table each evening. Thank you for a perfect stay! We will be back!
