Wonderful House & Hosts, Delightful Garden, Super!

5 of 5
We visited Mystic last year on our spring sojourn and stayed in this wonderful house with gardens reflecting a strong horticultural interest. Many varieties of trees, shrubs and plants successively blooming. We arrive again shortly and are excited to re-visit some familiar places and discover new. A great home away from home with all of the comforts and necessities (the owners live here much of the time). Bedrooms are fresh and bright, the private bathrooms very convenient when all on the same schedule. House has great character and color with different places to sit and congregate. Early morning coffee rocking on the front porch, lunch for a few on the side porch and afternoon relaxing in the garden. Love the convenient location in this historic, friendly neighborhood with the church bells down the street chiming on the hour and playing music at noon and 6:00. Town is a short walk down the hill with many choices for dining. Definitely a boat oriented village with a long seafaring history. The Mystic Seaport Museum warrants more than a full day and is brimming with maritime history. There's a great local bookstore and several coffee shops. One could spend a week without a car (Amtrak is a 1 mile walk), it's not a necessity and bike rentals are available. However, it is desirable for venturing further which is what some of us did to the Submarine Museum and Florence Griswold. We thank our gracious hosts for sharing their special home with us.

Great house, beautiful backyard, amazing location

5 of 5
This was my family's second stay here, our first stay was for my wedding week in August 2013. Both times we had a great time. The house is spacious and well appointed, the backyard is beautiful with lots of space for the kids to play and being able to walk down the street to downtown Mystic is such a perk. We will definitely be back again!

Spring getaway in Mystic & Nordic Lodge trip

5 of 5
We decided to try something other than a hotel this year for our annual trip to Mystic , CT for the Nordic Lodge's opening weekend. We had 4 adults staying in this little yellow cottage, there was plenty of room with the couch & tv and with playing cards/games at the table. We walked around on the island, very cute little spot, tho had a hard time finding beach access with homes. Since it was closed we opted to walk to MIYC to sit by the water and take in all the views. Wonderful blend of woods, stones & water. The deck was wonderful for morning & evening coffee. We made use of the fireplace every night too, which you can't get in most hotel rooms. Would definitely rent again!
