My girlfriends and I spent a week in August at this lovely home. It was perfect for us...neat, clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable, and the cool breeze blowing in from the ocean meant we could have the windows open and still be very comfortable. Didn't need the air conditioners at all. :-) Being fresh air freaks, this was decidedly appealing.
The open space of the first floor meant we could easily interact even if not all participating in the same activity. I might be reading next to the window in one of the great antique chairs in the living room, while others were at the table putting together a puzzle, and another was surfing the web on the couch, but we could all enjoy the space together and feel connected.
Two people could shower at the same time without a noticeable drop in water pressure. And we never ran out of hot water. The kitchen was fully stocked making cooking as good as at home. We ate dinner on the deck several times. The grill was great for cooking outdoors. It is a gas grill...which I considered a plus since we didn't have to mess with charcoal. Others might disagree, but it was so much easier to deal with. :-)
It is nicely located for good access to other attractions, if like us, you don't spend the entire time on the beach. It was an easy jaunt to Mystic Seaport--a little over an hour, traffic permitting And we made it to see the Nautalis as well as to the Weir home. Dinosaur State Park was pretty cool too---focus is mainly for children, but seeing actual dinosaur tracks was amazing.
Overall, we had a great stay. It was very nice and I would definitely stay again. Cheryl was great when it came to setting up our reservation, communicating about what was available and checking in to make sure we were happy.
