Even prettier than it appears online!

The online information is accurate but when I walked in, I realized that the online photos don't do it justice. Modern, comfy seating with tasteful and cheerful color scheme. Nice kitchen with any utensil you might need to cook on the BBQ as well as visit the many nice restaurants in town. Great private beach at low and high tide. I enjoyed the swimming while my husband kayaked. Quiet mornings. Pretty bedrooms. Excellent hot/cold outdoor shower we preferred as come in back after the beach. Great views. Good customer service from Judy. Would recommend to a friend and return. Only tiny problem was we hated to leave and the cleaning couple arrived early and idled their car just outside the door we were bringing our luggage out through. Unpleasant and they just watched (maybe needed A/C in their car). Wish they would have driven around the block a few times because it felt like an abrupt ending to a lovely week. But that was minor in the whole scheme of things!:)

Just what we needed

This is a lovely, relaxing, rustic cottage in a quiet seaside community. If you're looking for luxury or action, go elsewhere, but if you're looking for long, slow afternoons of reading, swimming or simply sitting on the front porch - it's hard to beat this spot. The house is large and homey. It's old and a bit quirky in its layout, but it's well-provisioned. The beds are comfortable and there's plenty of fans for the warmish nights. We particularly liked the many options for eating and gathering - front porch, screened in side porch, large dining area, picnic table in back. Our only struggle (a tiny one) was that there's only one shower. If we'd had more bath takers, it would have been less an issue. In short, we'd return in a heartbeat.

We spent a week here in July/August 2007, there were 7 adults, 4 young kids, and 2 dogs. While we were a bit of a squeeze with our numbers, we were extremely happy with the house. The location was superb--5 minute drive from town beach, 15 minute drive from Hammonnasset State Beach, 5 minute walk to charming town center. We cooked on the grill every night. At the end of the street is a super nice family with a 6 year old boy; if you have young kids he'll find you and is fun to play with! Nice touche: the free wireless internet/phone. Only (minor) drawback: lots of mosquitoes, so bring your bug spray. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
