Great Reunion Weekend House

5 of 5
My friends and I met up at this property for a New England end-of-summer reunion (we're all spread out over the country these days). When we first arrived at the house, we were all stunned at the modern interior design and the interesting layout (we all argued over who would sleep up in the loft!). The house more than comfortably accommodated the 8 of us. The kitchen/dining/living room area was great for hanging out, cooking and chatting. We spent quite a bit of time outside on the deck and in the yard playing yard games. We grilled out on the Weber grill both nights. The one recommendation for being outside would be to bring a decent amount of bug spray--the property is along a gorgeous river that, if slow-moving (which it was when we visited), is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. That said, with a little spray, the bugs weren't bad enough to force us indoors. Overall, we had a great weekend enjoying the property. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something in this area. It's quiet and beautiful. Can't go wrong! Also, the security deposit came back swiftly as well, which was appreciated. I would definitely return to this property.

Peaceful, romantic and inspiring

5 of 5
We spent a wonderful weekend at the beautiful Cottage at Great Falls. It was our second visit and found it to be as amazing as the first stay, if not better. Our first visit was in the fall, we walked the Appalachian Trail, photographed the foliage and the falls. Mario and Danielle have a wealth of knowledge for this area; for this stay they recommended we rent a pontoon boat at O’Hara’s Landing at Twin Lakes in Salisbury. It was a wonderful idea; it’s a short scenic drive to the beautiful lake. Bring a picnic lunch and spend the day floating and swimming. I agree fully with Robin and Gregory’s reviews, their descriptions of the cottage are perfect. My favorite spot is the sunroom off the master bedroom overlooking the Housatonic River. Take time to walk the property, the cottage is artistic inside and out. You will leave relaxed, at peace and inspired to get creative. Mario and Danielle, thank you maintaining this beautiful retreat in Connecticut and making it available for others to enjoy.
