                    Last minute vacation

                    4 of 5
We decided last minute to book our vacation. Not having ever rented on the CT Shore we were skeptical as to what to expect. First, I have to say Melissa, the home owner, was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. She took the time to answer all questions very quickly. The house was very nice. It had everything that we needed in a very private, quiet community. The owners made sure there was everything in the house needed to make your stay comfortable, including food items, ample linens and little things like foil and sandwich bags. The access to the beach was directly across the street and we literally felt as if we had a beach to ourselves during our entire visit. My 2 year old daughter was able to run around and enjoy the beach without annoying any other people. Though we didn't use all of the amenities the owners also provided kayaks, row boat, chairs, beach toys, etc. The shore line was a bit rocky, but we didn't know what to expect as being the first visit to the CT shore. The area was quiet as it is a very small town. However, within a drive there was shopping, Mystic, New London and other things to do. We were there to relax and just enjoy our time on the beach....which certainly served its purpose. Our one and only critique was the air conditioning. Yes, the air conditioning in the bedroom was great. It cooled the room down immediately and worked great. The air also helped keep the second bedroom cool. However, the air conditioner didn't cool the entire house. The temperature during our stay wasn't too hot however, we like to have it nice and cool in the house when we get in. I would suggest an air conditioner in the main living room. It would make a big difference in the house to keep the far end of the house cool as well. Again, it is a small critique and for many it probably wouldn't be anything, but I thought it was important to note. All in all, it was a very nice vacation with a very nice rental. We would certainly recommend this rental to others.

                    Great family vacation spot!

The cottage is quiet, charming, and extremely clean. It looked exactly like the photos online. Plenty of space inside and outdoors. Short walk to town with restaurants and shops. Sue was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely come back and highly recommend staying at the Mystic Arbor Cottage!

Our Girl Scout troop had been fund raising for years to go on a trip to Mystic. We had six 16 year old girls and three leaders. We all loved everything about the house and yard. Being Girl Scouts, we of course made S'mores in the fire pit one night! We had such a great time - able to walk to the shops after dinner each night. Sue, a former GS, was very accommodating and helpful with directions. I can't say enough how wonderful our stay was - highly recommend this house to anyone!
