Wonderful place for a family get together

5 of 5
We were looking for a special place to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We were 10 in all, 3 couples and 4 children ranging in age from 11-17. We couldn't have found a nicer, more helpful owner than Ruth Ann. Both before and during the visit, she responded immediately to our questions and contributed so much more to make our stay a good one. We found all the positives describing this house and the pictures, accurate. Nicely decorated with quality furnishings in all the rooms. Although a duplex, it's very private with a beautiful view. Everyone enjoyed sitting on the deck, listening to the sounds of Gore Creek below and watching the hummingbirds come to the feeders--so relaxing!! The kitchen is amazingly well equipped, again with high quality things and stocked with spices, condiments, and so many extras we didn't have to buy. The bathrooms were also well supplied with hand and bath soaps, tissues, hair dryers, etc. Thanks to Irma and her family for doing such a good job maintaining the house, including a middle of the week refresh of clean towels and sheets. We found the location perfect for walking or biking into the Villages and using the facilities at Cascade Resort, yet in a very quiet, private setting. The children enjoyed playing around the Creek or just sitting by the water reading. There are so many activities available in the Vail area in the summer. We did mountain biking and hiking (phenomenal views), horseback riding, the skateboard park in the Village, ziplines at Zipline Adventures (children's favorite), the pool at Cascade, walking thru the Betty Ford Gardens, and enjoying the hot tub on the deck. Since this was our first time in Colorado, we were delighted with the cool, clean air, intense blue skies and lack of flying insects. Also as an FYI, because of a biking mishap on the mountain, we found the medical facilities to be excellent. We were very appreciative of the hospital staff and responders who were all very efficient and caring. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house, and would love to be back there again.

Great Retreat Home!

5 of 5
We had an awesome time and Billy's place is location was perfect for us!!! Thanks to prompt and detailed descriptions of everything that we needed to know to be comfortable in the Valley View unit...it was a wonderful place situated just far away enough from the busy commercial area of Vail but close enough you can hop a free shuttle! We were very comfortable here and look forward to a return visit!!! The new windows solved the upstairs ventiliation concern and with the bathroon window open and the fans on low, it cooled down perfectly! Previously a winter visitor, future quests may be interested in what to do in the summer to get a taste of the area. I would recommend hiking the Cherry Picker trail and taking the Gondola down, driving/hiking at Piney Lake Ranch (if you have an SUV); this is a less populated Alpine hiking experience and comparable to Maroon Bells! Drive to Glenwood Spings for a rafting adventure with Whitewater Rafting, and rent bikes in town to really get the lay of the land! Is you have kids the Betty Ford Amphitheater and park was a favorite for my grandson. There's much more...and on the down-low within walking distance the park and creek was a haven to relax around or just chill on the deck. Oh...there's a great breakfast at the local Westside Cafe (next to McD and Safeway)! Regards and thanks for sharing you slice of paradise! Karen & Scott Minneapolis, Mn

Awesome

5 of 5
We are leaving tomorrow. Positives: Fantastic location. Great space for the two of us. You could fit four in here as well. Owner was quick to respond to all issues and questions. I always use VRBO and quick responses is a sign that things are going to be great. Parking was easy once we figured out the numbering. Setting your own code for the door! No need for a key, thumbs up. The view is awesome. We are right across from the Arrabelle. I would hate to be the dude who paid 2500 a night for the place across from here with zero view of the mountains. Negatives: None. Book it! We will be returning. Thanks Antoine!
