This is a beautiful secluded mountain retreat. We had 4 adult couples and 2 elementary age boys in our group. We were never crowded and even though the lower level family space is extremely inviting we used this space very little. This home is nicely decorated and the kitchen was amply stocked with dish wear and cooking utensils for our group. We were blessed with beautiful weather to enjoy the great mountain views on the upper level deck. The solar panels did a great job; on most days the generator only ran a couple of hours between 0800 - 1000. The family enjoyed hiking on the property trails and the adjacent BLM. Other activities included, the Royal Gorge, Salida, and fishing and hiking to some of the regions high mountain lakes and continental divide. Wild life we spotted included mule deer, antelope, big horn sheep, elk, ground squirrels, rabbits, coyote, several trout species, wild turkey, humming birds, eagles and a jet black unidentified small animal possibly a black squirrel or a mink. If you want comfort and off the grid, you will not go wrong with this destination!
