                        LITERALLY A DREAM VACATION!!

                        5 of 5
We were so impressed with every aspect of our stay at the Bear Ridge Cabin. I guess I'll start with the location itself, in which the cabin is located. When planning our stay, amongst the varying criteria, the location was a major deciding factor in which cabin we decided on. The Bear Ridge Cabin couldn't have been more perfectly placed! We wanted something centrally located, NOT smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle, yet close enough that we're not driving an hour or more if we decided to grab dinner or needed something from the market. So in this category (location) the Bear Ridge Cabin gave us the peacefully quiet retreat we sought. The drives to the neighbouring tourist destinations (Breckenridge, Leadville, Denver, South Park etc) were also very manageable and could easily be reached in around 2 hours or less. As a minor side note, the last 30 minutes of the drive heading into the cabin from Elkhorn Rd, via highway 285, is all dirt. While we did have the luxury of all-wheel-drive, in our Forester, we felt that either a front or rear wheel drive vehicle, could easily traverse the dirt roads with relative ease. Once we arrived and got settled into the cabin, we quickly realized that Jane, the owner had literally thought of everything when outfitting this cabin with all the amenities and creature comforts that her guests would need during their stay. Basically what it boils down to is, so long as you bring food, clothing and toiletries, you'll soon realize Jane has taken care of literally just about every other item you would or could need during your stay. She has even gone so far as to pull together all the relevant information regarding your stay and how to make the most of it, along with what is expected of and required from you during the check-in and checkout times, then compiled everything in one easy to understand three ring folder. Overall we had an absolute blast and it is very apparent that Jane genuinely wants her guests to have the best Colorado cabin experience that they possibly can and she will do everything within her abilities to see to it that this happens. Best of luck to those of you planning your vacation, I hope this review of our stay assists you in setting up yours! And Jane once again you were a phenomenal hostess and we absolutely can't wait to come out and do it again!! Best regards, Chris, Jaime & Evan Chambers

                        GREAT TIME!

                        5 of 5
Each summer, I try to get away from the smoldering heat of Oklahoma and spend a week in Colorado. I took my daughter(13) and my son(9) for yet another nice vacation. We explored Georgia Pass, hiked, and built a campfire and had smores along the way. We fished Jefferson Lake virtually every day we were there. It provided some great fishing entertainment, as well as some good hiking around the lake. The location of the cabin in Jefferson is great. It is away from everything, yet close enough to Denver to take in a Rockies game one day. The cabin is a perfect place to relax, yet close to all kinds of great things to do!

                        NOTHING BEATS THIS...

                        5 of 5
We really couldn't ask for more ! Gary and David were exceptional in attending to every detail and making us feel comfortable. From the tips of where to explore, to the delicious brownies that greeted us, and the millions and millions of stars in the sky - it was certainly a God-send vacation. The home was cozy, clean and had absolutely everything we needed including games, DVDs and a good stock of books. It was great ! We cooked every night, and was the perfect ambience to connect and laugh as a family. For my girls aged 5 and 8, the sleds Gary left for us to use simply made their holiday. We took them to nearby Indian Mountain, and the park in Breckenridge to sled. Centrally located, we also did drives to Buena Vista, Royal Gorge in Canon City, Denver, the Florissant Fossil Beds and ski resorts of Keystone and Dillon and still had time to get back to admire sunset at 430pm at the house. Away from it all, it was amazing to be immersed amid nature and the alpines. The drives back to the house to and from our excursions never failed to take my breath away. The vistas were simply awesome. Thank you for the memories Gary and David ! It really wouldn't have been the same if we had opted for yet another chain hotel or resort.
