Great place for a multi family get together

4 of 5
We met friends traveling from different locations and had plenty of room for everyone to sleep and shower, etc. There was plenty of hot water for ten people to shower in the mornings and he has a fabulous coffee pot in the house as well. The owner even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy when we arrived. We loved how far this is away from the rush of daily life, and loved having a little bit of property for the kids to hike on, and they even enjoyed playing in the stream during the warm parts of the days. We enjoyed the kitchen which had everything you need to make full meals and serve to a large group. Also the property is very close to the phoenix gold mine, which offers a fantastic tour and opportunities to pan for gold (and actually find it!). We also spent a day climbing up to nearby St. Mary's glacier, which was a full day of fun for only $5 parking. We had no trouble getting to and from Denver from here to see some interesting things in the city. At the end of long days, we came back to the house and made big meals and just enjoyed each others company. We cooked most of our meals while staying at the house and saved a ton of money to do fun activities. The town of Idaho Springs has a good grocery and liquor store, not far from the house as well, so plenty of convenience to get what you need. For travelers coming here, be sure to coordinate with the owner about making a fire on the property before you come - we always thought about it after it was kind of late, but didn't. We should have planned that better, so we missed out on the fires due to our lack of planning that out. If I had one recommendation for the owner to make this an absolutely perfect getaway, I'd say - add a hot tub on that awesome back porch. That's the only reason for the 4-star rating. With a hot tub, we'd never leave! We're already planning to meet up again at the same property next year.

Wonderful. WOW.

5 of 5
Very relaxing. The view is awe inspiring. The home itself is comfortable with everything needed. The owner met us, gave us a short tour, and made us feel right at home. Our family reunion/vacation here was perfect (3 couples, one infant). At the end of our vacation as we discussed the highlights, the vacation home was at the top of everyone's list. We enjoyed picnics on the patio, stargazing, s'mores made by the fire pit, abundant and varied wildflowers, the QUIET, sunrises and sunsets, and the majestic mountains of the Continental Divide. When or if you ever tire of this amazing place, there is plenty to do nearby as well. We hiked to St. Mary's Glacier (sledding in July!), took the scenic route to Estes Park and drove Trail Ridge Road through RMNP, took the Georgetown Loop Railroad/Mine Tour, hiked to nearby lakes, visited Breckenridge. Awesome beauty all around, very relaxing.

Absolutely stunning home

5 of 5
A group of about a dozen more than comfortably stayed at the Invincible Lodge in mid-May. As in the title, this home is absolutely stunning. From the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room with the more-than-vaulted ceilings, to the chef's kitchen, to the fireplaces, entertainment center, radiant heat, and hot tub - this place has it all. Easy for us to get into and around Idaho Springs, and into Denver one night. We hope to be back.
