Awesome location, best views, comfortable space

4 of 5
This apartment is right on the edge of Old Town. You can walk to all the great restaurants, bars, and shops there. It's only a couple of minutes walk to the Food Co-op, my favorite grocery store right in town. The apartment is very comfortable and has the most incredible views off of it's spacious balcony. You can see the mountains and the eastern plains which also means you have some of the best views of sunrise and sunset. The apartment is very well supplied with everything you could need to make it your home away from home. It can be a bit noisy at night since it is right in old town, but it's not too much of a deterrent and definitely the pros outweigh any of those cons.

Beautiful home, great location, great value

5 of 5
We rented this beautiful home for three months to be near our children and grandchildren. The home is located on a very quiet residential street, a short walk from the south end of CSU. Despite its proximity to campus, the immediate area has no student housing--instead, the homes are family-owned & occupied. When we first saw the street, we thought of the set for Desperate Housewives--the homes are beautifully maintained and the development relatively recent (70s). The house itself is unusual for its beautiful design, woodwork, tile floors, and conservatory (full of geraniums), with many Italianate elements. (You need to water the plants a couple of times a week, which doesn't take long). The owners chose to trust their tenants and left many of their personal belongings in situ, clearing plenty of space in closets, drawers, bathrooms, etc. for their temporary guests. One has the sense that they have just gone away for the weekend. We enjoyed this lived in feeling, in contrast to the rather sterile ambience of other vacation homes we have rented. The photo gives you a sense of the general feel of the home. There is a great library & nice selection of CDs. A couple of the rooms (owners' studies) are closed off, but that still leaves three bedrooms. The bathrooms are large and well-appointed, if that matters to you. The backyard faces a pond, with attendant wildlife. We saw beaver and cranes, not to mention geese, snapping turtles, ducks, and the more common denizens of pond life. Access to a great bike path--and the whole Ft. Collins trail system--is just around the corner. Our grandchildren loved to visit. We looked at a number of properties before choosing this one--it was both more appealing and more reasonable than most we looked at. Our communications with the property manager were cordial, and he kept us well informed when he was coming by to mow the lawn, etc. We certainly recommend this property and will likely rent it again in the future if it is available.

The Perfect Vacation Stay…Highly Recommended

5 of 5
If you are truly looking for a “home away from home”, this is the place! John and Roxann were the perfect hosts, providing all the necessary amenities (along with a few extras like fresh baked cookies upon arrival, fresh cut flowers from the garden, recommendations for dining, and etc.), making this the start of a perfect week stay. It was also helpful to have a washer/dryer in the unit. The owners have done a fantastic job anticipating our needs. The apartment is very comfortable, sitting on a serene pond with a canoe and small boat made available to their renters. The location is very convenient to historic Old Town Fort Collins, as well as local breweries, the Bike (rental) Library, and many shops and fine dining opportunities. We are so glad we selected this lodging choice and highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit this area. We look forward to returning in the future! Mark & Betty Columbus, OH
