BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND GETAWAY!! COZY, CHARMING, QUIET!!!

                      5 of 5
We decided to celebrate Father's Day up in the mountains! I am sure glad we did! We picked this cabin on the VRBO site and it was everything it said it was! Beautiful views, charming, cozy...just simply amazing! We were with our 2 kids, ages yrs old and 3. They had a blast!!! (my son cried when we had to leave!) The patio was probably our favorite part. Nice comfortable seating and we stayed out there for hours. There is a fire pit TO DIE FOR!! You won't want to leave without having at least 1 fire! Downtown Evergreen is only about 15-20mins away. And Echo Lake is about the same! I recommend driving up to Echo Lake and down into Idaho Springs (40mins or so). Those views were breath taking. The house itself was just perfect and had everything you could imagine. We cooked meals there, took hot showers, watched TV, sat outside...we did it all! The owner Deb was the sweetest woman! She called us the night of our arrival just to make sure there wasn't anything else we needed! She made us feel right at home! We will be back very very soon!!!

                      RUSTIC HEAVEN

I reserved this chalet as a surprise for my husband on our anniversary! It was exactly what I was hoping for. Tucked way up in the mountains, extremely quiet, surrounded by forest, comfortable bed and couches, basic shower, bathroom and kitchen. Amazing what they fit inside this tiny a-frame! We had such a lovely peaceful time! Michael stopped by as we were checking out to see how our stay was. He was very friendly. And, on that note, he was extremely timely in replying to my emails, phone calls and texts during all the planning. Super great! We will absolutely be visiting again!! (note, we drove the motorcycle up without knowing there were several dirt road switch backs for the last stretch. It was fine, but we'll bring the Jeep next time!)

                      INCREDIBLE!

                      5 of 5
What an incredible place! Spacious for our family of four and the in-laws with all the modern comforts of home. Breathtaking views throughout the home and more outdoor space that we knew what to do with! Our young children loved the place and a no-brainer to just let them play and explore outside. We visited for a spring break week and saw extremes of weather. A snowstorm brought a couple feet of spring snow and then the spring sun came out melted the snow and our “snowman”! For several days, we snowshoed right out the back door and on up a private mountain without another sole in sight (rented snowshoes in Evergreen). The local ranch “caretaker” was fantastic. He made us feel welcome and was always responsive. He was generous with the kids and their fascination with his horses. And he plowed the road when it snowed and so access was not an issue. For families, know that Evergreen and surrounding area is great for kids. We only scratched the surface of the potential to do list, like the Colorado Railroad Museum (half-hour to Golden, CO - 15-acres of old trains) and Morrison Natural History Museum (half-hour to Morrison, CO - dinosaur fossils and a kids fossil dig). Best thing was just hanging out at the ranch! We’re certainly hoping to come back!
