My wife and I stayed at the Wayne and Patti Buck ranch cabin for a week to start out our honeymoon. And we both were very happy with the cabin itself, the location, and above all the hospitality! Yes it is located on their property not far from the homestead, however, the Buck's we're very warm hosts and intuitively scarce. You can find the seclusion you are looking for here and felt very much as though we we're located exclusively on our own estate! The view is excellent from the front over looking the irrigation pond, the trees, and the Mesa border beyond which leads into New Mexico. The rear is where my wife and I liked to catch some sun and enjoy a few drinks as the sun went down. The interior of the cabin was large and more than we had needed by far! Also it was very clean and well kempt as is the rest of the Buck ranch. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook and prepare food so don't forget to stop on your way in and pick up some grocery's and of course something to put on the grill! The bed we slept in was very plush and comfortable and you'll also find a tv in the kitchen area with a small assortment of movies. What I like the most is if your not one to sit around (and I'm not) the small town of Ignacio is a short 10-12 minutes away where you'll find a couple shops, 2 gas stations, a laundromat, and a casino! And what ever you may possibly want to do or need Durango is about 35 minutes away filled with amenities and adventure! And if you have a day to spend, from the cabin, about 1 ¾ hours away is the beautiful town of Silverton! The drive is gorgeous but if you'd rather, hop on the vintage Silverton train in Durango!
Thank you Wayne and Patti, immensely for your hospitality, campfire stories and a wonderful stay at your cabin! Hoping to return soon!
