peaceful cabin and quiet setting, great getaway for our anniversary! !

5 of 5
My husband and I rented the cabin for a few nights get away and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was much bigger than we expected. We traveled with our 2 dogs, who had a great time hiking nearby and lounging around the cabin. There is a kennel on site, which we did not need this time...but we were able to tour it, speak with the kennel manager (she is fantastic!) and will definitely use during our next visit. We found we had everything necessary in the kitchen to prepare a meal (just bring your own spices and oils ). The bed was very comfy and there were plenty of heat sources throughout the home. We are already planning our next visit in a few weeks. The only thing I was not aware of prior to booking was the need to clean the property prior to leaving (or you don't get your $100 deposit back). This was not a big deal for us, but if you are on vacation, staying for longer than a few days, and do not want the stress of cleaning...then this could be an issue. But for the price, it was totally worth it for us!! Can't wait to come back and stay soon!

Best location in Durango

5 of 5
The house is about 3 miles south of town, right on the southern point of the bike trail that runs through town, and very close to trail heads for mountain biking. Road biking access also exceptional. House is cozy, well-maintained, spotless, and well stocked w/ all necessities. Right on the Animas River with a big yard to run around in between it and the house. Built fires in the fire pit and looked at the stars almost every night. Great BBQ grill. Best for 5 or less people, 4 easy. We had a great stay - thanks

Exactly as Described!

5 of 5
The pictures and descriptions only tell the beginning. This place is absolutely beautiful. My family of 4, including 2 teenagers and 2 dogs, absolutely loved our stay here. The kitchen is fully stocked, the beds comfortable and the views are fantastic. We did all the tourist activities in the Durango/Vallecito area, but our favorite thing to do was getting back to the cabin. Hikes on the many trails or walking the property, playing horseshoes and running the dogs until they were exhausted was the highlight of our days. Evenings were spent on the porch and then inside next to the fireplace. We kept so busy playing and talking that we never even thought about the lack of a T.V. (Please don't ever add one) We had a truck so the last mile and half was never an issue for us, but I'm not sure if I would attempt to bring a car up the last part of the road to the house. The owners answered all of our questions (even the silly ones) and mailed our deposit back the day after we left. Thanks again Greg and Jan, can't wait to come back.
