BEAUTIFUL! My family of 3 and another family of 3 stayed for 6 nights. The 3 bedrooms were spacious and the 2 bathrooms were perfect. The master bathroom was huge; it was the size of a small bedroom. There were two living rooms. The living room right off the kitchen had a large sectional that all 6 of us would sit on in the evenings and watch movies. The other living room was nice for someone have some quiet time or sit in the massage chair. The hot tub was wonderful in the early mornings or late evenings. We had a large male black bear show up at the cabin one night. He came right up on the deck but left quickly when the motion light went on. He came back each night, hoping to grab some food from the bear-proof garbage can. That first night, we were taken aback by seeing a bear, but after talking to the locals (especially in Woodland Park), who weren't a bit scared of them, our fears were calmed down. On one of our day trips to Woodland Park, we shopped at the Western Store (next to the Ute Cafe which has really good food) and the gal told us story after story of black bears in the area. She generally just "shoos" them away. She's had a few bears that like to run in the pasture with her horses and had cubs climbing in her trees! During our five days, we went to Manitou Springs (watch out if it's raining quite a bit as Highway 24 will be shut down), and shopped for the afternoon. We slept in, cooked a big breakfast, then headed to Manitou. Another day we rode the Cog Train (3-hour round trip) then ate lunch at The Ute (Woodland Park). We drove to Colorado Springs to visit the Olympic Training Center and that afternoon went to Garden of the Gods. On another full day, we went to Florissant (fossil beds) in the morning and the Wolf Sanctuary in the afternoon. We'd heard that McGinty's (there in Divide) was a good place to eat so we gave it a try. We actually called in our order, drove to get it and ate it at the cabin. All 6 of us LOVED our meal. In fact, after going to the Wolf Sanctuary a few days later, we ate there again. The pizzas are amazing, loved the salmon sandwich, meatloaf, club sandwich, etc. It was all sooo good. The owners were a dream to work with. There was a huge lightning strike (the night of the first bear episode) which blew fuses in the kitchen. It did not bother our stay but he offered to get an electrician right away. We opted to just wait until we left to have electrician come. GREAT TRIP. SAD IT'S OVER.
