Review: I had the pleasure of staying at this residence for almost three weeks while on business, and will definitely stay here again for vacation.
Sheryl was a wonderful hostess and a joy to work with! The house was stocked with everything I could need, from toiletries to cooking spices, coffee, etc. I wish I took photos of the beautiful house! The downstairs bedroom is very quiet with a full bed; when my husband visited we stayed in the large upstairs bedroom on the south side with a super comfortable queen bed. This is a corner lot, fully enclosed (including a detached two car garage) with a nice picket fence and grass. The front porch facing the street has comfy seating to watch bicyclists go by, there's a large table & charcoal grill (with everything you need for grilling in the garage; a lighter is in the glass hutch)on the east side. My favorite is the great little west facing deck outside the breakfast nook with views of Pike's Peak. The kitchen- wonderful! Efficient washer/dryer. The house is very tastefully decorated- a Victorian feel, but not "flouncy". When my manly-man husband came to visit he loved everything about it, especially the separate tv room with leather couches which he enjoyed when I had to work a couple hours.
The location is extremely convenient and very central. I had to work all over the city, from Peterson AFB to Northridge and it was 20 minutes to the farthest points. Manitou Springs, Old Colorado city, Red Rocks and Garden of the Gods are all less than ten minutes away, downtown is just a couple miles south.
You can walk, run or ride the 16 mile Pikes Peak Greenway Trail from the end of the street- https://www.springsgov.com/units/parksrec/maps/mppgrnwya.htm head south to Roswell Park/downtown & north towards the sports complex,& shopping center with Costco, Panera Bread, Chipotle, etc (2 mi). *Use your situational awareness; I was told there had been some issues along the trail with homeless being a little aggressive, usually in late evening; however, this trail has lots of users & I never felt unease during the day.
The Visitors Center at 515 S. Cascade, down the road has free maps, brochures, hiking maps, etc. Also worth visiting: Memorial Park (armed services, fire fighter), Airforce Academy, Olympic Training Center & Florence, CO is the "Antique Capitol of Colorado" (great lunch/coffee at the Pour House)!
Boonzaiijer's Dutch Bakery, less than a mile away on Fillmore for the most amazing coffee & treats
