Perfect lodge and location for our family reunion!

5 of 5
This review may have too many superlatives, because we can only use those in describing the High Country Lodge. This was well beyond our expectations. Our family reunion included folks from 4 months to 69 years, and the Lodge was the perfect setting to meet the needs of everyone. The views from the Lodge were spectacular. It felt as though we were completely alone in the mountains. There are great hiking trails that go straight from the cabin into magnificent scenery. The Lodge was beautifully and tastefully furnished with ample room for everyone. The large living room was just off the kitchen area, so our group fit very well in that space, and we enjoyed being able to be together. When someone wanted to get away, there were other beautiful sitting areas off the bedrooms that provided cozy spaces for reading, napping, and just contemplating the scenery. And, there was a gorgeously furnished deck outside. The Lodge was thoughtfully furnished with many, many extras such as games for all ages, toys for the younger children, and a wide assortment of excellent reading material. The large game room was a great place for the children. It included a large TV. The kitchen included two large refrigerators and two dishwashers. We found all utensils and serving pieces we needed. Everything worked well. The large kitchen table held most of our group, and there was additional seating available. We were also able to play cards and games on the tables. One of the highlights of this beautiful lodge were the camp fires held in a well built fire pit with ample seating. We sang songs, roasted marshmallows and made s'mores, and greatly enjoyed the view back up to the lodge from there. Patrick and Petra helped fill any need we had throughout the visit. They are delightful, and we so enjoyed getting to know them. The catered meals we had were spectacular. We could not have asked for better food, service and convenience. What a pleasure! We even added a fourth night of catered meals to allow us to relax in the late afternoon and evening. One night we had our meal outdoors on the huge deck. It was absolutely delightful. We would highly recommend High Country Lodge to anyone looking for a pleasingly comfortable, tasteful place for a reunion or celebration. Our group came from Hawaii, Virginia, North Carolina, California, and Colorado. Our roots are in Colorado, and we love Breckenridge, especially High Country Lodge.

Love this house!

5 of 5
Our group included 4 college kids and my spouse and I. We spent an hour just looking at all the rooms and the detail. Fabulous log home with an impressive entry, as we pulled up, the kids went nuts. Homey, warm and palatial at the same time. Wonderful "tree" in the foyer led to a beautiful spiral staircase to the lower level. The kitchen/hearthroom was comfortable and one could spend hours admiring the detail in the ceiling log beams. We enjoyed talking and eating in beautiful surroundings. In the morning our feet were toasty on the heated stone floors. Also beautiful! Fantastic views from every room. Having 3 boys with us and one girl, the apartment over the garage space was brilliant! After a day skiing we ordered up food some nights from Gourmet Cabby, watched the fabulous sunsets, discussing our runs on the mountain over dinner. Had a little sing along in the hearth room a couple nights (one son had his guitar) and then, it was movie time in the theater! By the way, the lights lighting up the road to the house was a great thought. The photos here don't do the house justice. Ya gotta see this in person. Couldn't have had a better family vacation and we plan to go back. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous home!
