Spring Break Ski Trip

5 of 5
Our family of four stayed in this condo for spring break in March 2014. The condo was nicely furnished, clean, comfortable and exactly as advertised. The master has a large attached bath that makes getting ready a breeze. The guest bedroom is large with two beds, which were very comfortable for our children. The other 2-bath (one tub, one shower) is attached to this guest room, which is handy when you're trying to get two kids ready at once. The condo is located right in the village just steps from the ice rink and close to several restaurants. It's just a short walk past the ice rink to the escalator that leads to the slopes and ski school. The unit came with a ski locker downstairs which was very convenient. The building also has 24 hour front desk which would come in handy if there were issues, but we had no issues. The concierge was also very helpful in helping us obtain reservations in advance of our trip, and a last minute reservation once we were there. We rented a car for the trip realizing that we might not need it much, and indeed we spent most of the trip in and around the village using the free shuttle the one time we needed it. However, if a car is in your plans the unit comes with underground heated parking. We also took advantage of the building's sauna most days. The owner took the time to send us several recommendations for dinner before our arrival. We spent one dinner at Grouse Mountain Grill. We were expecting typical mountain fare, but were very pleasantly surprised with the meal. It's not inexpensive by any means, but definitely worth the trip. The kids' menu items were not just afterthoughts but high quality meals. If you're looking for a nice dinner, this is worth a look. We have used VRBO several times and always are appreciative when the rental is as advertised. We also appreciated the time the owner spent sending us recommendations. Would definitely stay here again.

A Lucky Find!

5 of 5
Our family (adult children) had the pleasure of staying in this super condo in January. We've stayed in a number of ski condos over the years and this was, by far, the best. The furnishings were superior--hardwood floors, stone fireplace, granite counters. Kitchen was spacious and virtually new. We "ate in" a few nights and it was a pleasure to work in it. The location is unbeatable--literally stepped to the base of the chairlift. You couldn't get any closer! Walk out the patio door and you are there. Having this ground floor unit, you feel as though you are in a private chalet. We have stayed in units in the Village and most are several floors up and just don't have the same feel at all. The ski locker room (Huge!) is directly across the hall from this unit. The ski locker is equally huge. There is a nice hot tub just down the hall from the unit; my kids visited it daily apres ski. A little farther down the hall is the front desk where we got helpful info regarding driving directions, the local shuttle bus, ski ticket purchases, etc. We were able to purchase tickets inside the condo complex. Also, the shuttle arrives at the front of the complex every 10 minutes to either go up to the Village or down to the town; really convenient. We didn't have to use our vehicle practically the entire time. There was parking in the basement of the complex. Nice large spaces--easy to park in. The layout of the condo was great--each bedroom had it's own ensuite bathroom. (That would be great for 3 couples sharing the unit.) There was also a bathroom/laundryroom in the main hallway. Very spacious. Nice linens and bedding. Unit was spotless; I would say it's even better than the photos. The property manager was very helpful and readily available by email. We skied all week and loved it. I would seek this unit out again when back in Beaver Creek.
