Beautiful and unique multilevel home in San Miguel

5 of 5
Beautiful home very close to the center of San Miguel de Allende. Location is excellent as the Jardin is just a short walk down the hill and it takes about 5 - 10 minutes when walking at a casual pace. Don't want to walk back up the hill? Just catch a cheap taxi for ~ $2-3 US. The walk up is really not bad though. The neighborhood felt very safe and I had absolutely no concerns about safety in this home. The home is designed in a modern courtyard design around a beautiful tree, each room has it's own entrance off the court yard. Every room in this house is tastefully decorated. The courtyard, rooftop patio and lower level garden feature numerous areas to sit and relax to enjoy the wonderful weather. There are also tables outdoor where you can dine. Individual suites was really nice as I traveled with my family - wife, parents and teenage daughter. This home is very spacious. One of the best features of the home is the staff. Angelica is an amazing cook and is there to help with any problems that you may encounter. She can also do light shopping for meals. Guadalupe keeps all the rooms very clean and will even do laundry if you need it. Any repairs are taken care of by Rene and he keeps the grounds looking beautiful. Owners were super easy to deal with and met us on day we arrived. They helped us out with some initial food purchases and went over all the features of the house with us. Communication was top notch and all of our questions were answered promptly and clearly. Stayed at this property in early Spring. We did not use hot tub because we were busy with other activities but it looked wonderful. We will definitely return and I highly recommend this property and have already told several friends about it.

Beautiful house and beautiful people

5 of 5
My friend and I stayed in Cholula for a week, and the house was magnificent. Wonderful rooftop area and gorgeous decor. It's a short bus ride to Puebla, but what a difference between the towns. Puebla is fun and exciting but full of traffic and noise. In contract, Cholula is a beautiful and tranquil town. We had a fabulous stay until on our way back to Oaxaca my friend realized she had left her phone in the house. A week later it was found behind the bed and they sent it to us in Oaxaca. Everyone went above and beyond the call of duty, not so common in this day and age. I'd come back again in a heartbeat.

Brilliant vacation for our group

5 of 5
My wife and I recently returned to Hacienda Las Trancas for the third time. Each visit, our groups have rented the entire hacienda for a week, so the experience has been somewhere between a resort and a rental property. I have tried to describe the place and experience to others, but there are no adequate words. For friends who have recently been there with us, there are also no adequate words, but now they understand. We go with people who are like minded – if you're looking for a glitzy 5-star resort with smooth, shiny surfaces, this is not your place. It's 450 years old and full of texture and character. If you prefer authenticity and soul mixed with creativity and care, then it can be as special as you want it to be. It's casual elegance is nice and comfortable – rooms, grounds, food, everything. The staff are real people who you want to take home with you. The somewhat remote location inspires relaxation, but there's also plenty to do – when you include day trips into the must-see cities of Dolores Hidalgo, San Miguel and Guanajuato, the days fly by. Our group of 20 arrived as friends and acquaintances. A week later, we left as family. The hacienda is the kind of place where that can happen. Since returning, we simply laugh and hug one another and try to tell others to trust us.
