Brilliant vacation for our group

5 of 5
My wife and I recently returned to Hacienda Las Trancas for the third time. Each visit, our groups have rented the entire hacienda for a week, so the experience has been somewhere between a resort and a rental property. I have tried to describe the place and experience to others, but there are no adequate words. For friends who have recently been there with us, there are also no adequate words, but now they understand. We go with people who are like minded – if you're looking for a glitzy 5-star resort with smooth, shiny surfaces, this is not your place. It's 450 years old and full of texture and character. If you prefer authenticity and soul mixed with creativity and care, then it can be as special as you want it to be. It's casual elegance is nice and comfortable – rooms, grounds, food, everything. The staff are real people who you want to take home with you. The somewhat remote location inspires relaxation, but there's also plenty to do – when you include day trips into the must-see cities of Dolores Hidalgo, San Miguel and Guanajuato, the days fly by. Our group of 20 arrived as friends and acquaintances. A week later, we left as family. The hacienda is the kind of place where that can happen. Since returning, we simply laugh and hug one another and try to tell others to trust us.

Beautiful home, excellent location, 5 Stars!

5 of 5
Our week long stay at Las Tres Terazas was fantastic. This was our third trip to San Miguel de Allende and we couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations. Rhonda's home is elegant and very, very comfortable ... Perfect for entertaining friends or just relaxing on the terraces overlooking the beautiful city. As the sun rose behind us it painted the city with a golden glow each morning. The location is lovely, safe and convenient and the home is excellently maintained by Ricardo and Viki who are wonderful. Ricardo is a wealth of information about the history and traditions of San Miguel and Viki is the perfect chef and housekeeper. We would highly recommend Las Tres Terazas to anyone who loves elegance, comfort and beauty in the setting of a wonderful city. Muchas gracias, Rhonda, John and Lorrie

Outstanding location and beautiful home.

5 of 5
This home was everything described and more. It was in perfect condition upon arrival. The housekeeper (upon our request) had prepared a fabulous Mexican dinner. The management had shopped for us (at our request) and the fridge was stocked for us after a long trip. The view from the roof terrace is without a doubt one of the best of the downtown and it was especially beautiful during the Christmas season. San Miguel de Allende deserves all of the raves it has recently received. We enjoyed every minute. It is a fascinating city with a fascinating history. There is not a bad meal to be had and the city is welcoming and very safe.
