Beautiful Home

4 of 5
This home was a jewel to find. We had a fabulous time in the home with our family. The home is extremely clean and having air conditioning in all the rooms is a plus after a long hot day at the beach. The location is perfect with great access to the beach and the amenities the hotel next to the home offers. The pool provides a nice break from the beach and we pretty much had it to ourselves the whole time we were there. Jose the property manager is wonderful. He arranged for all of our transportation while we were in Costa Rica. He shared tips and insights of the country. Jose arranged for several tours for our family and took care of all the details, so we just had to show up. Our trip would not have been as enjoyable without Jose. The house with Jose's assistance and knowledge was the perfect combination. If we make it back to Costa Rica, this home will be our first choice.

Beautiful Condo, Great location, Things to Do

5 of 5
If you are reading this review then you are somebody that likes to get as much information as possible when deciding where to vacation and where to stay. I can save you a lot of time and tell you to just book this condo in Jaco, Costa Rica. The unit is exactly as described, fairly priced and in a great location. The owner is extremely responsive and even set up our airport transportation. The town has good restaurants and is very walkable. We always felt safe. One day I walked around the corner and rented a car from Alamo for a trip to Manuel Antonio National Park. That was a nice day trip for my wife and me along with our two college aged kids. We visited two casinos. The nicer one is a ten minute walk North or a $4 cab ride. The owner also connected us with Julie Beyer, a local real estate agent and personal concierge who came over to the condo and gave us restaurant recommendations and booked a number of activities for us. She lined up a combination zipline / waterfall rappelling tour, a crocodile tour (a must do), surfing lessons for the kids and also a driver to take us to a beautiful sunset spot called Villa Caletas. Nothing was more than 20 minutes away and they pick you up right at the condo. We had one minor issue with one of the bedroom A/C units and the Management company had it fixed quickly. Overall, this is a great family vacation location. The sport fishing is also fantastic.

Peace and Quiet in a Tropical Paradise

5 of 5
Hi Fred! It’s been three years since we wrote our first review of your home and thought it might be good to give our review an update. And having just arrived home from our sixth stay at Casa Roja, I wonder if we have earned some sort of honorary status, no? You already know what a treasure you have with Casa Roja and we feel so fortunate to be able to frequently borrow your piece of tropical paradise. When considering whether to stay in town or at Casa Roja, trial and error taught us that your place wins hands down. Don’t get me wrong, San Juan is great – we enjoy the quick drive into town to shop, visit the Farmers Market or grab a bite to eat but that we can quickly escape the heat and hustle bustle of town is what we treasure on vacation here. And with Playa Hermosa virtually down the road from Casa Roja, we just zip down there to swim, surf and search for shells on the beach. By comparison the beach in town isn't as swimmable, surf-able or quite as beautiful. Whether we’re returning from town or the beach, we appreciate being able to get back home quickly to unwind nestled in tranquil privacy. On our first visit, we had wondered about security but it has never been a concern. Whether it’s during our morning walks or peaceful evenings spent stargazing comfortably tucked away in what has truly become a home away from home, we never worry about or want for much. Your caretaker, Luis, is like family and it goes without saying that we love your adorable dogs so much that we are taking Luca back with us later this year. We are confident Casa Roja’s two remaining pups, Indie and Toby, will continue to keep people smiling with their loving laid back demeanors. (Do you put it in other guest's contracts to bring them treats or is it just us?!) Reflecting on all our time and experiences there, it’s almost like your place mellows and ages well with time. You’ve kept it in excellent condition. We noticed the new paint along with new outdoor furniture, gas grill and more. The plants have tripled in size and fruits are everywhere! Luis’s handiwork, no doubt. But why is it we can never find the free bottle of Flora de Cana Rum you always promise us!!! Keep up the good work and we will be back very soon!
