Everything You Need

5 of 5
There were six of us, three couples, that stayed in Marta's wonderful home in Xandau. Each couple had their own room with private bathroom. There is also a comfortable trundle in the living room with a community bathroom. The pool is beautiful and cleaned daily. The stairs down to the beach are right in front of the house and lead down to a rocky beach with a surf break that wasn't too strong when we were there. There is a community pool down by the beach front that is large and made for a great change of scene when leaving paradise. It was about a 15 minute drive into La Libertad, where the main grocery store is, and a 7 minute drive into El Tunco. When we needed to rent a car, it was brought to us. When we needed to get picked up from the airport, done. Marta provided every resource that was needed included a cell phone with all important contact numbers. With the wifi we were able to stay connected as well. Xanadu is as it connotes, a paradise. Highly suggested!

Just what we needed/wanted, just what we got!

5 of 5
What a spectacular 5 days spent with wonderful old and new friends doing just what we wanted all day and all night. Swimming in the beautiful pool during the heat of the day and again during the coolness of the perfect evening under a star filled sky and a jungle sparkling with fire flies. The sounds of the frogs, crickets, butterflies, birds and monkeys communicating through the evening helping us all settle down to a peaceful and comfortable night sleep. A perfect setting to be social and active or wander off to relax in a hammock, take a nap, read, listen to music, dance, sing, get a massage in one of the simple but elegantly designed casitas or in the private and tranquil treehouse-like palapa up in the sky. Nothing like waking up in the morning to the aroma of the delicious rich local coffee waiting for you in the kitchen prepared by Luis, the king of the caretakers. He will do whatever he can to make your stay as comfortable and satisfying as possible. He has a lovely wife and two sweet boys who can be adorable and engaging but very independent and invisible as well. We cooked a few wonderful meals at home and ventured down the small mountain(10 minutes)to the beach town for spectacular seafood, fine choices of Rum and wine, wonderful music, dancing and a nice stroll admiring the talented craft work of the locals. The only complaint, just not there long enough. I would return in a heartbeat and hope to have that opportunity in the near future. Thank you Don Fred, we loved your paradise, your hospitality, your generosity, your presence and hope to do get to experience it again soon!

Amazing Wedding Week!!!

5 of 5
This was a dream come true. I did a lot of research to have this destination wedding. What sold me on Casa Maravilla was the reviews. At first, we thought to get married on the North Shore of Hawaii. Taxes for the house I found were going to be nearly 14%. Then a friend mentioned she had spent her wedding anniversary in Manuel Antonio and said it was the most relaxing vacation she ever had. They also had a chef. So, I started looking for places that could accommodate our families comfortably since this is a remarriage for both of us. The chef included was a draw but the reviews really cemented my decision and boy! they were right! The most incredible part of this house is Ronald "the chef" and the maids that keep the place clean. We ate like kings and queens and all for an average of $28 a day per person. This included beer and wine. Granted we purchased hard liquor at duty free as Susan "the concierge" suggested but this was amazing to consider the way this group ate and drank. Our meals were all outdoors in the rancho which is a beautiful outdoor bar/kitchen overlooking the pool. It has a gorgeous sunset view and fans overhead to keep you comfortable. My new husband especially enjoyed these times with the family all seated at the table. The wedding meal consisted of lobster and potatoes presented like a 4-star restaurant. It was beautifully done and we felt relaxed and so lucky that we had chosen this venue for our wedding. We also celebrated 2 birthday dinners and Ronald and his helper Reynald went out of their way to please. Susan, the concierge, was so kind to help in the preplanning and answered every email in a quick fashion. She was absolutely delightful to work with before arriving and during our visit. She booked our excursions being especially sensitive to our needs and always advising in our best interest. She even drove my son to a pharmacy for treatment when he had a reaction to a bite on his foot. It is a special feeling to have good hospitality when traveling and they all try so very hard to make your stay an amazing one. We are all having withdrawals from our stay at Casa Maravilla. If you want to feel like the rich and famous for a few days in your life then stay here!!!!!
