Cannot imagine a more spectacular view of the Whale's Tail from anywhere! The hillside setting of this home allows for completely unobstructed views of the ocean and jungle...we only went inside to sleep and cook, the remainder of the time was spent outside on the generous patio and deck area. The home was spotlessly clean when we checked in. Don met us in town and escorted us up the mountain upon arrival...the road is not bad by Costa Rica standards but 4 wheel drive is mandatory....just take your time and enjoy the scenery on the drive!! There were a couple of maintenance issues here....two of the three bedroom AC units did not work and two of the three floor fans did not work. To his credit, Kevin responded almost immediately to my e-mail about the AC units and offered to have someone come work on choice to not have workers come during my stay...and Don took the two broken fans to town to have repairs done, just not completed during my 6 night stay. I would not hesitate to stay here again and plan on doing so as soon as possible! Everything you need is right here, and you can pack light because there is a washer and dryer to take care of the dirty clothes. If you stay here, go to Tortilla Flats in Domenical for the best Mahi sandwich you have ever eaten!! And DO NOT miss the roadside ceviche stand at Playa Hermosa...but go early as he is often sold out by 1pm! Thank you Kevin and Mary for making this beautiful home available!!!

I can't say enough positive things about Storm & Amy's villa. It is exactly as advertised, kitchen is well-stocked, including decent bath & beach towels (none of those tiny, scratchy white ones here!). The views are amazing, I could have sat out on the deck all day but there were too many fun things to do in the area. We saw toucans, monkeys, lizards and tons of other birds right from the deck. We also hiked farther up the road into the rainforest early in the morning and saw lots of poison dart frogs. Having a private pool was fantastic - our kids could swim as much as they liked while we were making meals or whatever, instead of a community pool where we'd have to chaperone them. Amy & Storm left us with several suggestions on beaches / restaurants, as well as recommendations for activities. Highly recommend Sunset Surf for surf lessons & the Nauyaca Falls horseback trip. I would stick with the beaches they recommend, they were all great. One day we went to the Marino Ballena National Park beach (which was not on their list). Although the beach was visually awesome, the vibe there was a little unpleasant - police patrolling the beach and some locals eyeing our stuff a little too closely. There are too many other nice beaches that are free with a more relaxed vibe. Playa Ventanas was awesome, be prepared to pay a German guy who lives there about $5 to park, but it's worth it. The villa has 3 AC units, one in each bedroom and one on the main level, so we found that we only needed to run the bedroom ACs at night, the rest of the time, we could just open the doors & windows. The location is fantastic, walking distance to Dominicalito beach and a waterfall with a swimming hole, and just a short drive to other beaches & restaurants. We ate at several of the restaurants Amy & Storm recommended, including their own Jolly Roger (great, friendly staff & awesome views!), Tortilla Flats, PorQueNo, La Parcela and Sabor Espanol to name a few. It is the tropics and sometimes things don't work as consistently as in the US (water, power, WIFI, etc), but the few minor occurrences didn't impact our trip. I've lived and worked in a lot of tourist destinations and I can honestly say the local population in this part of CR is friendlier and more laid back than anywhere else I've traveled. They truly are living the Pura Vida!

This was our first time in Costa Rica and I absolutely loved it. We had a group of 6 adults for a birthday vacation. The house is beautiful, spacious and very close to Quepos. The pool was a great way to cool off after our daily adventures. We saw monkeys, sloths, toucans and a Mot Mot at the house. The house very clean and we had a friendly cleaning staff daily. Dorit was awesome. She arranged for a sailing trip, canopy tour and White water rafting on the Rio Savegre. I would recommend all of the tours. They’re fun and very professional. Everyone in our group felt very safe on the tours, even when they were doing things out of their comfort zone. We visited many restaurants but Ronnie’s place was our personal favorite. We went there two times in one week. The seafood is amazing and so is the sangria. I am going to recommend the Villa Mot Mot to my friends and family. I would only suggest staying longer than one week, because we didn’t want to leave. I hope to see you soon Costa Rica. Pure Vida.
