WONDERFUL PROPERTY, AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

5 of 5
We loved the property and the "rain forest" backyard, surrounded by beautiful flower bushes, tropical fruit trees, colorful birds and butterflies, even hummingbirds. We saw an interesting animal - Coati walking by in one morning. Excellent view of the Volcano Arenal from the porch while we enjoyed the Costa Rican coffee and delicious home made breakfast. It was truly a feel in the tropical heaven. You don't really need to travel to various Volcano viewing spot. This property gives the best viewing angle. The house is in between Tabacon Hot Spring and La Fortuna. It is conveniently located within a short driving distance to almost every activity this area can offer, including zipline, lake water sports, volcano hiking, butterfly observatory, hot springs, waterfall, grocery, and restaurants. And yet, the location gives a healthy distance from the crowd that you can easily enjoy your privacy. One of the highlights of our stay is the meal we had. Miriam came to cook breakfast for us every morning, from western style to local specialties. I never knew the combination of the rice and bean can be so delicious. It couldn't be any better to start a morning with the freshly cut tropical fruit platter. We loved her cooking so much that we asked her to cook a dinner for us in one of the nights. I can tell she put a lot of thoughts to it and designed a wonderful full course dinner for us. Even Mireya came to help preparing. They did such an excellent job. That dinner was one of the best meals we had in the entire trip. Thank you Miriam and Mireya. We stayed for 3 nights, had a wonderful time, and wish it can be longer. I highly recommend this place and certainly will come back again.

Creating Family Memories that Last a Lifetime

5 of 5
Our family travels to Panama each year to visit family who live in Panama. To maximize our time together, we will rent a vacation house where we can stay together, share meals, hang out, and go on outings as a group. We are usually able to find something to fit our needs, but rarely have we had the opportunity to mix family time with the adventure of discovering wild Panama. This house in Gamboa was the perfect retreat for reuniting with our family and getting to show our kids the beauty and excitement of Panama’s rainforest and Canal Zone. The house, in which the owner raised her own family, is arranged perfectly to enable families to spend time hanging out together. We were seven adults and 3 kids and the house fit us fine. The well-stocked kitchen made group efforts to produce family meals a breeze. We enjoyed lounging out on the expansive patio, swimming in the pool, and watching the butterflies and hummingbirds swarm around the flowering trees and the tropical birds – even toucans and parrots – flying overhead. You can even see from the pool deck, if you look closely, the barges passing through the canal. Our kids loved the downstairs area with the pool and ping pong tables, and TV with tons of DVDs. In the evenings we would make dinner and serve it family-style on the large dining room table. Early mornings were the perfect time to explore the nearby hiking trails. We visited Pipeline Road and the new Rainforest Discovery Center and checked out the trails around Gamboa resort, which is right down the street. We visited in August which is in the middle of the rainy season and since we were in the rainforest it did rain. Our solution to this was to spend our mornings which were reliably dry and sunny, exploring Gamboa and using the pool and then in the afternoon after lunch we would head to the beach on the Pacific side to escape the rain. Getting to the InterAmerican Highway from the property and over the canal to the beaches was a breeze. The owner of the property has a “platform” property at Rio Mar which we visited and it was the perfect set up to enjoy the beach and take a shower afterwards to remove the sand for the ride home. We liked the “platform” concept and the beach at Rio Mar so much that we plan to rent it for a few days next time we come to Panama. Both properties are It perfect places to disconnect from work and other stresses of life and reconnect with love ones to create memories that last a lifetime.

Convenient confortable house with amazing views

5 of 5
The property is like a tongue sticking out above Lake Arenal which is surrounded by mountains. It is convenient since it is just off the main road and only minutes from Arenal. The house is clean and well maintained and has new furniture and appliances. Ed and Leslie were extremely helpful and nice to deal with. Arenal has several groceries and restaurants. We purchased a prepaid SIM cards and our US phones worked everywhere and could even call the States. We didn't need to use the AC very much because there were breezes from the mountains and the lake. There were lots of outdoor activities in the area.
