Great trip.....perfect place!

4 of 5
The place looks just like the pictures. It was large enough for 7, in very good condition and decorated nicely. The beds were a bit hard, but after the second day, you didn't notice. The hammock upstairs was a nice touch. Had washer/dryer which came in very handy; the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty, but was much appreciated. We would definitely come back. Jayston and Jose do everything they can to make your trip memorable. The location is even better. You can walk into town, but would recommend a taxi, which is only $2 or $3.....it's HOT!! The pool is shared by all of Riverwalk, but except during the Easter weekend, it was pretty much ours. But the black sand beach is right there (be careful on manmade bridge, walk in the center), which also, was basically ours. The best time to surf was around 3pm until sunset... and then hit the beach bar on the beach toward town, just look for the flags and bar stools. Very good "doctored" smoothies. And check out Amancios for pizza/pasta for a night out; charming. And don't miss the Taco Bar of all places. The salad bar was very fresh, tacos excellent and the swings at the bar a cool touch. We cannot say enough about Jose! He was fabulous!! Our trip to Monteverde for zip lining was a hi-lite of our trip. Jose and his brother took us on our 2 hr drive, which he made shorter with conversation and music. He's very easy going, which was good for our group!! We still aren't sure what was more exhilarating; the zip lining or the dirt road at the top! Make sure you do the extreme package at 100% Aventura - the Tarzan Swing was awesome! Then we hit the Treehouse restaurant, which is actually built around a tree. Good food and drinks. (Thank you for searching for guanabana and the smoothies for Erin) But the best was the ATV trip that Jose set up. We ride, so they took that into consideration and we had a blast! Javier was great. And of course, there is surfing.....which we did just about every day. Waves are perfect for beginners and you can rent a board right on the beach for $10/day. Boards aren't great, but good enough for what you're doing. Just be prepared, the sand gets EVERY WHERE..... Would highly recommend staying here if you want a nice place by the beach, close to town, but in a quiet, safe area. Very nice having a guard on site, if you feel uncomfortable; however, we never did. The locals are very friendly and helpful. Great trip....thank you!!!

Amazing Vacation at Casa Playa Bonita!!

5 of 5
My family of 4 travels really well with 3 other families/amazing friends of ours. This was our 2nd annual Spring Break shared Vacation. There is no way I will be able to say enough about what an incredible time we all had at Casa Playa Bonita. Where do I start? Lisa is so prompt and pleasant and made planning our trip a breeze. She and Yoko answered all of our questions immediately. Yoko will book your transportation and any day trips, she will make reservations for dinner, she is available to answer any questions at any time before and during your stay. When I called, she picked up. We were taken care of. Herman and Blanca were a dynamic duo for sure. Blanca is one stealth woman! She was like a ghost. We bought tons of fruit and she would cut it for us every morning and set it out without anyone seeing her. Any time we would try and wash a glass or dish she would stop us. She cleaned our rooms every day and I swear I rarely ever saw her! Herman and Blanca have perma-grins and they are wonderful human beings. Make sure you arrange at least one dinner cooked for you. They made us the BEST Tuna we've ever had. Even the non seafood eaters tried it and loved it! Casa Playa Bonita is a perfectly designed home. 4 families, 14 people and there was plenty of privacy when needed. Best location, gorgeous sunsets, steps to the beach, a quick walk to Coco Loco's. It's like you have your own private resort. Coffee every morning looking out at the ocean, listening to birds and watching dragonflies buzz by was so incredibly relaxing. We rented sea-do's down the beach, kayaked and paddle AND boogie boarded right in front of the house. Fish would swim between our legs and the kids saw a sting ray. There were no vendors bugging you on the beach, it's super mellow and GORGEOUS. White sand and clear water. Yoko set us up with a 4 wheel/canopy tour and everyone had a great time. So much so that the kids decided to go on a 4 wheeling guided tour later in the week to ride again. We swam in the pool for hours and took advantage of the kiddie pool to float because we have no little ones. I want to be floating right now! Read the house book that Lisa will provide front to back. Everything you need is in there. We cooked in the amazing kitchen, went to Angelina's for dinner (tried octopus and LOVED) and there were daily walks to Coco Loco's for a coco loco served in a coconut. YES! I want to write more and I'm being cut off so....JUST GO. We can't wait to return. Pura Vida!!
