Great location, views, access to vehicle!

5 of 5
Our family of 7 with five children ranging from 2 to 10 years old stayed in this home for 5 weeks. The location was great for our family--a quiet, safe neighborhood with easy access to town. Having the Land Rover was great. JB, the manager, was a fabulous help, always responsive and quite a gentleman. He also took us on two day trips, which were quite nice. We hiked Volcan Pacaya one day and visited Lago Atitlan on the other. The rooftop space is quite nice with hammocks and two chairs. The view is 360 degrees. Internet access was good. Nancy, the house cleaner, was so friendly. We even visited her village over New Year's for their local fiesta. We loved the movie theater style screen for watching movies. Greg has quite a collection of movies and music. We would recommend this place for the lovely location, the views, the vehicle, of course, and, the very responsive service.

Better than advertised!

5 of 5
Couldn't have been better. Everything was perfect and represented accurately - maybe it was even better than advertised. The owner was accommodating and answered all of my questions immediately and thoroughly. Juan Carlos was our go to guy - and didn't disappoint ever. We hired Elena to cook and she was wonderful. I have already recommended this property to friends. My husband and I had three adult children and their spouses and six grandchildren ranging in age from 3 to 14. They had a ball in the pool and at the beach and roaming around Nosara. The outdoor kitchen and "living room" were the best. All the adults had their own master suite and the kids slept in the bunk house. We had Elena fix us a picnic for New Years Eve and filled the two large wheel barrels with chairs, food and coolers and watched the sun set and the stars come out on the beach. Happy 2015. Perfect!

View to Die For, Perfect Spot in Manuel Antonio

5 of 5
We were getting married in Costa Rica and wanted somewhere memorable to stay the following week, the Casa Barba Roja did not disappoint. The view is simply to die for, it's beautiful and amazing to chill and relax on the deck or by the pool. And although the view for most is probably the main selling point of this rental, the house itself is equally as good. The house is large and spacious, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to make meals and there is also a BBQ outside that was great to use one night to grill up some fish. The house it is kept very clean with maids coming in almost daily. Since it was just the two of us on our honeymoon the size of the house was perhaps too big for us but we did not care as we liked the privacy this house provides. We would like to go back sometime in the future but with some family/friends, there is more than enough space to accommodate a family or if you went with another couple. Another reason I picked this rental was it's location, I think it's in a good spot that it is maybe half way between the main town and the national park. There is several restaurants within walking distance as well as a bank and some shopping. We had a car rental so it was easy for us to get around but you can also take the local bus which is very cheap and runs regularly, in fact if you are going to the Park I would recommend taking the bus instead of trying to park down there. I don't really have anything negative to say about this place, only a few nitpicking things which I'll detail here but I don't think any of which are big issues. Water pressure is kind of low and there isn't much hot water but this to be somewhat expected in a place like this, the BBQ there isn't as nice as the one shown in the photos (still worked fine though), the locking/security routine for the house was a bit tedious at times (we did not experience problems with it like some of the other reviews but it was kind of tedious to remember to lock all the different locks the correct way), the walkway wasn't an issue for us but if you have any mobility issues/trouble walking then going up and down the path all the time may be hard for you. Also remember there is a $300 cash deposit upon arrival, I forgot about that detail but no biggie. Check-in/out went smoothly with Josue the contact. In short we were very happy with the rental, everything went pretty smoothly and we had a great time. We hope to come back again in the future.
