Ocean Oasis is just that, an oasis. I will start with the beach house. It was exactly as it was pictured online. The beds were comfy, it was very clean, there were plenty of beach and bath towels, the kitchen had everything we needed, the grill was clean and it worked. There were 7 of us (4 adults and 3 kids) and the house was just the right size - not too big but not too small.
The house is right on the beach and you won't see anyone else. Tina has snorkeling gear and 2 kayaks, which we took out to the reef. It's like swimming in an aquarium. We saw so many fish and sea life, starfish, crabs, and more. The kids also loved exploring the coral closer to shore when the tide was low. There were plenty of beach chairs which were in perfect shape. If you have kids you'll have to bring your own beach buckets and shovels, and life jackets.
There were really strong winds (25-35mph) 3 days which was a bummer but we found other things to do on the island those days. We didn't make it to Stingray City due to the high winds and small craft advisories. We HIGHLY recommend going to Dolphin Discovery. Can't say enough great things about it. Starfish Beach was disappointing. There were a few starfish but we didn't see any fish when snorkeling. The best snorkeling is out in front of the house.
As for restaurants, everything is expensive. Kaibo Beach is fun because the tables are on the beach and the kids can play in the water while you wait but it's not cheap. We also ate at Over the Edge - sit on the deck overlooking the water. In Georgetown, we recommend Guy Harveys and Breezes by the Bay. The grocery stores are also very expensive - more than other islands we have been to.
The owner of Ocean Oasis is very responsive to any questions or issues you may have. She also sent us a list of things to do, things to pack (water shoes!) and detailed directions to the house. She also put us in touch with someone at Hertz who gave us a discount when we mentioned renting Ocean Oasis.
