Best vacation home on Grand Cayman!

5 of 5
We had a fabulous time! We had a group of 6 adults and 3 children. This house and location has something for everyone. First off, the house is very spacious and well-appointed. The bedrooms are all large and the common areas are designed for entertaining. We enjoyed fresh fish dinners on the grill and drinks at the table at the pool. The kids swam in the pool, in the ocean and we snorkeled from our dock to Starfish Point. It was fun to have kayaks, the trampoline and hammock for use. The place is large and you can all be together or enjoy a peaceful moment alone. We all enjoyed seeing the Disco Shrimp light up in the water at night at the dock. We had all taken the bio-luminescence tour, which is great, but you can see light up fish at your own dock! Can't be beat! Sunsets are amazing from here. It's almost like they cue the catamaran to cruise by just as the sun is dipping into the ocean. It's crazy picture perfect! There is some nightlife on this side of the island and we ended up at Kaibo Bar on many occasions! They have a variety of entertainment and events to keep it fresh. We always had good food. We all agreed that Sting Ray City is still the top attraction. We have taken the glass bottom boat and the massive catamaran and both are good. Others in our group took a private charter and raved about that too. On our last day, we heard that Taylor Swift had been at Kaibo Bar. Apparently, we had just missed her! Bummer. Next time we will check to see what celebrity might be in our midst! Thank you to the owners, Lisa and Vidal, for being such gracious hosts! We will be back!

The perfect combo

5 of 5
We have been coming to Cayman for years and have always rented a condo. We wanted to rent a house for more peace & quiet. This house was fantastic. It was clean, modern and the perfect size. We loved the pool and screened-in porch. It was great to hang out at the pool with the 9 year old while my husband snorkeled & vice versa. I spent a lot of time underneath the little palapas, reading. We walked on the beach a little bit. I was concerned at first that this was right next to some condos but that ended up being no problem. Most days, a whopping two people would be on the beach. Everyone seemed very laid back & we didn't hear a peep all week! One lady was even nice enough to point out a sandy path in front of their condos, which made getting to snorkeling areas very easy. The amenities inside the house were great. The only thing we'd love is a cushier mattress pad of some sort. I'm sure that's personal preference though. As far as location - it's fantastic. We were originally worried about not being right next to Rum Point but that turned out to be just fine. The drive is about a minute or if you walk, it's about 10 at a very slow pace. (Wear stronger mosquito repellent for walking at dusk!!) I have to say, after the solitude of the house, Rum Point felt like a zoo!! Overall - the owners & property managers are great to work with & attentive. We are already planning our return trip!

FAMILY FRIENDLY

5 of 5
Ocean Oasis is just that, an oasis. I will start with the beach house. It was exactly as it was pictured online. The beds were comfy, it was very clean, there were plenty of beach and bath towels, the kitchen had everything we needed, the grill was clean and it worked. There were 7 of us (4 adults and 3 kids) and the house was just the right size - not too big but not too small. The house is right on the beach and you won't see anyone else. Tina has snorkeling gear and 2 kayaks, which we took out to the reef. It's like swimming in an aquarium. We saw so many fish and sea life, starfish, crabs, and more. The kids also loved exploring the coral closer to shore when the tide was low. There were plenty of beach chairs which were in perfect shape. If you have kids you'll have to bring your own beach buckets and shovels, and life jackets. There were really strong winds (25-35mph) 3 days which was a bummer but we found other things to do on the island those days. We didn't make it to Stingray City due to the high winds and small craft advisories. We HIGHLY recommend going to Dolphin Discovery. Can't say enough great things about it. Starfish Beach was disappointing. There were a few starfish but we didn't see any fish when snorkeling. The best snorkeling is out in front of the house. As for restaurants, everything is expensive. Kaibo Beach is fun because the tables are on the beach and the kids can play in the water while you wait but it's not cheap. We also ate at Over the Edge - sit on the deck overlooking the water. In Georgetown, we recommend Guy Harveys and Breezes by the Bay. The grocery stores are also very expensive - more than other islands we have been to. The owner of Ocean Oasis is very responsive to any questions or issues you may have. She also sent us a list of things to do, things to pack (water shoes!) and detailed directions to the house. She also put us in touch with someone at Hertz who gave us a discount when we mentioned renting Ocean Oasis.
