Everything and More

5 of 5
The condo was as advertised and more. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 with everything you need to feel like you are living at home. The pictures do not do the condo enough justice as it is much bigger than it looks. The location cannot be beat! Right across from Rum Point beach and the Wreck bar and grill. Adela was fantastic with the directions to the condo, things to do, places to go, restaurants to try and is very quick to respond to any inquiries. Rum point beach is a great place to relax and unwind. Definitely not as busy as Seven Mile and at least to me, felt very safe. The Wreck Bar and Grill serves good food and even better drinks. Just wish they were open in the evenings. Grill closes at 5pm and bar at 6pm. The snorkeling at Rum Point is good, but for better snorkeling you need to head NW from the pier about 200 yards where you will see a red and a white buoy. We also went to Barrier Reef (recommended by Adela) and it was fantastic! About a 10 minute drive from the condo heading east. Definitely worth checking out if you like to snorkel. In addition to the Wreck bar, we went to Kaibo bbq on Tuesday night which had good food and great entertainment. For our wedding anniversary, my wife and went to Kaibo upstairs which was fantastic and I highly recommend if you are looking for something a little more upscale for a change of pace. Our first night on Grand Cayman we went to the Calypso Grill which is NE of Georgetown. The restaurant lived up to the great reviews we had read and is worth the drive (about 75 minutes) from the condo. We also went to Over the Edge restaurant on several occasions. About 5 minutes east of the condo with the food being good and at reasonable prices for Grand Cayman. Additionally, we went to Chesters which wasn't that great, but it could have been bad timing (mid afternoon) and Kurtz Corner which was pretty good. We visited Turtle Farm. Very cool to see, hold and swim with the turtles but it felt like it was a mini Sea World. Lastly we did an afternoon excursion with Nicks Private Charters and were fantastic. Some tips: 1) Rent a car, really no other option for getting around. 2) Visit Sting Ray City on a Sunday, no cruise ships (at least that is what we were told by our guides that took us). 3)Take Adela's advice and get some groceries when you first leave the airport. 4) Bring mosquito spray! Some in the condo, but you can't have enough. Take it with you to restaurants when you will be sitting outside

Outstanding Vacation Spot

5 of 5
You just can't beat a rental unit with the Caribbean outside the back door. This is an excellent unit with close access to beaches and great reefs to explore in the back yard. Beth has done a great job of maintaining the property and keeping it fresh. Our party consisted of two couples and we found the large kitchen and dining area to be a big "plus". The outdoor deck is exceptional and provides a lookout on to the bay as well as the most pleasant spot to eat breakfast imaginable. There are a couple of good restaurants within a five minute walk and a supermarket around the corner. One great aspect of the unit is it's quiet neighborhood setting. We were blissfully away from the crowds, traffic, and mayhem that describes the more heavily touristed areas along Seven-Mile Beach. A great place, with great people, and great diving and snorkeling! We highly recommend you check out one of Beth's properties!

Guestbook Comment

Hi Mr. Nevins, I am finally getting around to thanking you for a truly wonderful vacation at your beautiful island home. Our vacation this past April was excellent and too short by far. It was my parents' first trip to Grand Cayman, and they have done nothing but rave about how clean and relaxing Barefoot Lagoon Island House was. They loved walking to Rum Point everyday for lunch, to relax, to look through their small shop, and to book a Stingray City tour. My step-father spent many hours relaxing by the pool, while my mom enjoyed the kayak and collecting shells near the lagoon. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have been able to share such a wonsderful place with them. They work so hard for everything they have. It was just great to see the stress melt away and the smiles on their faces. Oh yeah, my husband and I had smiles on our faces too! Everyone has already decided that we want to stay at your lovely home again the next time we are blessed with a trip to Grand Cayman. Sincerely, Dr. Kimberly Morden
