Privacy and Beauty...Crystal Blue is awesome!

5 of 5
This home and its location were absolutely perfect for our family. Our family of eight, which included two children, really appreciated the layout of this absolutely stunning home on the ocean, which provided privacy, and luxury, for all of us. The house is just as described, with huge windows facing the ocean. The main living area could host a wonderful party but, the open concept kitchen, dining room and family room with a walk out to the large patio and pool area, was where we congregated the most, cooking meals, talking, reading, or watching TV (rarely!). The stone patio and pool got a great deal of use too. We always started the day out there drinking coffee, enjoying the morning breeze off the ocean, and even doing our own workouts! There was lots of space for everything. Both kids and adults enjoyed the pool, and being able to walk down the stone and coral steps to the ocean. Although it was a bit choppy for our youngest, we snorkelled off the steps almost daily. One day, some of our snorkelers even spotted a stingray! We ended our day outside too, often turning off the lights to enjoy the beauty of the stars. We had two cars which allowed us to go our different ways if we wanted. However, we got the most use out of a Kia SUV from Marshalls, which held all eight of us. From the house, we snorkelled at Morritts and the Reef, ate at Tukka and Bombay Chopsticks restaurants, drove down to Rum point where we took a private boat to Stingray City, courtesy of White Sand Sports, and did the Bioluminescent Kayak tour through Cayman Kayaks. Our divers did two dives with Ocean Frontiers, traveling through underground caves, and exploring the reefs. It was a very pro outfit. My husband and I enjoyed a walk through the Botanic gardens. All of this was within 5-10 minutes of the house. We did venture to Seven Mile Beach once, for brunch at the Ritz, which was pretty amazing! The beach was lovely, but we all agreed that the cool breezes at our house on the north side were better. We also went up to The west side to visit the Turtle farm. The man-made snorkelling lagoon there was a favourite with the kids. The friendly property manager tried hard to help us with a faulty pool light, our only disappointment. I'm sure this problem will be addressed for the next visitors. We would definitely recommend this house and its location. No bugs, cool breezes, beautiful natural surroundings, and an absolutely stunning house made for a wonderful vacation.

A real treat - very well appointed and maintained.

5 of 5
My wife and two children stayed for a bit over a week at the Harvey Nicole, and upon arrival we felt right at home. The condo is spacious, clean, bright, well maintained, and full of delightful surprise details that I think all rental condo owners should take notes from. The kitchen was more than fully appointed, the bedrooms simply and tastefully decorated. The huge dining room table that was never used for eating - the wonderful lanai with its ocean view, sounds of the sea and the ocean breeze had us "outside" for every meal. Many little unexpected but useful things came with the condo - a picnic cooler and jug, juice pitchers, ice packs, nightlights, and even a baby play/sleep pen and booster seat. The washer and dryer were also a welcome luxury. The vacuum cleaner and other cleaning equipment were also nice to have on hand for neat freaks like us. Mats on the floor throughout the unit (beside beds and entrances etc.) were most welcome - we had not before realized how welcome a simple touch like that would be. A healthy supply of beach towels were provided as well. The grounds of the condo and the pool were tidy and inviting, and the wonderful sight and sound of the sea right out the door (and past the pool) was like a siren song, calling to us to come and get our feet wet, or better yet, explore the nearby reef. The owner Nicole was helpful, friendly, and very quick to respond, . The reef is a short swim from the shore - but a careful entry was required to navigate past a few rocks, followed by a swim over turtle grass. Walking up and down the beach was always rewarding, but bring water shoes or flip flops since parts of the beach can be rocky (and sadly, some nearby properties have some washed up trash that intrudes on the beach areas). We saw a ray, a starfish, several large tunicate like creatures, baby fish, and even a heart urchin right on the shoreline. Shell hunting was always fun and rewarding too. A short drive away are Starfish Point and Rum Point - in my opinion 2 places not to miss on a trip to Grand Cayman. We went often. We loved the quiet of the north side, and although we did venture into town a few times, the Harvey Nicole was a wonderful place to stay for our vacation, and I would recommend it to families, couples and small groups (it can accommodate up to 6 people) who want a quiet and (very) comfortable home away from home in Grand Cayman! Cheers and best fishes, Dave and family
