Recent Grand Cayman Reviews

The perfect combo

5 of 5
We have been coming to Cayman for years and have always rented a condo. We wanted to rent a house for more peace & quiet. This house was fantastic. It was clean, modern and the perfect size. We loved the pool and screened-in porch. It was great to hang out at the pool with the 9 year old while my husband snorkeled & vice versa. I spent a lot of time underneath the little palapas, reading. We walked on the beach a little bit. I was concerned at first that this was right next to some condos but that ended up being no problem. Most days, a whopping two people would be on the beach. Everyone seemed very laid back & we didn't hear a peep all week! One lady was even nice enough to point out a sandy path in front of their condos, which made getting to snorkeling areas very easy. The amenities inside the house were great. The only thing we'd love is a cushier mattress pad of some sort. I'm sure that's personal preference though. As far as location - it's fantastic. We were originally worried about not being right next to Rum Point but that turned out to be just fine. The drive is about a minute or if you walk, it's about 10 at a very slow pace. (Wear stronger mosquito repellent for walking at dusk!!) I have to say, after the solitude of the house, Rum Point felt like a zoo!! Overall - the owners & property managers are great to work with & attentive. We are already planning our return trip!

This being the 2nd year in a row renting we are again extremely satisfied with the property, the condo itself(Windsong #3)and the great proximity to Seven Mile beach and Georgetown.I would consider this a luxury unit with all the necessary amenities to make a persons stay stress free. Thanks again the Bote's

Excellent Long Term Stay

5 of 5
Cayman Reef Resort Unit 50 was very suitable for my wife and me for a four week visit. We thought the overall experience was excellent and it provided excellent value for our money. We would definitely recommend Unit 50 and we plan to return. Don't expect luxury, but do expect comfort, convenience and a relaxing place to stay. The owner, Marc, is very well organized, responsive, a good communicator and a pleasure to deal with. There were no surprises. Marc's information packages were clear with all the information we needed for our stay in the condo plus he provided helpful information about the island. The resort is clean and well maintained with a good pool, on a non-crowded section of the beach with plenty of beach chairs for all. The resort staff were very helpful. We were within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and grocery stores. If loaded down with groceries, we took a taxi back. We did not need a car, although we rented one for a couple of days to explore the island farther afield, which I would recommend. The apartment is spacious and is comfortably furnished. We cooked and ate four to five dinners/lunches per week in the condo and ate at restaurants the other times. The electric barbeque works well but takes longer to heat up and to cook than a gas one, so we had to learn to plan accordingly. We took advantage of the option to have the apartment cleaned half-way through our stay. Our unit overlooked the pool with a view of the sea in the distance. It was generally quiet, although during the day there is construction noise that could be heard from the pool area and thumpy music in the evenings from time to time. In summary, we found this to be a good place to stay and we recommend it to others.
