Awesome villa

5 of 5
This house is gorgeous with amazing views. We loved just sitting by the pool. My hustand and I went with our 3 kids (17 to 22) and my sister and her husband and 3 kids (15 to 25). The layout worked for us because the kids were older, but renters should be aware that 3 of the 5 bedrooms have their own separate entrances from the outside with no inside connection to the house. Not ideal if your kids are younger. Plenty of space for 10 of us. We rented a car. Not thrilled about driving on the left side and the curvy, mountain roads, but taxi service wanted $100 each way to town and back so we drove ourselves. Magens Bay was a nice beach and had a good snack shack and good drinks. About a 10 minute drive from the house. We went to Red Hook one night. I expected a bigger place. It is about 400 yards long with a few restaurants. Duffy's Love Shack was fun though. Food was just ok, but fun atmosphere. We also ate at Room with a View in French Town. Good food and a nice place. Driving and parking is hard everywhere in St Thomas though. That's the only negative of the trip in my opinion. Also, bring bug spray and cortisone cream as mosquitos do bite and we had quite a few bites when we left. All in all it was a great trip. Our kids all loved it too.

Paradise by the Playa!

5 of 5
We just got back from a fantastic stay at Villa Leone and the trip was amazing. There were 8 adults and two toddlers and there was plenty to do for everyone. We are still tanned, happy and already longing to go back. The house itself is nice, clean and spacious. We had all the comforts of home including a good kitchen, nice bathrooms and good wifi. The staff was great and very attentive. The home is great for adults but also kid friendly. There is a gated back patio preventing small children from wandering into the pool area or onto the beach. This was key for us to be able to relax. The bedrooms are a good size and the beds are all comfortable. The two master suites on the second floor have great views and are really nice. The master suite on the third floor has that and more... a gazeebo with panoramic views. Amazing! The house opens right up to the beach which was never crowded or busy. The surf is high at this part of the coast and there is a nearly constant breeze. This means we never got too hot out in the sun. The wind dies down in the evenings which makes eating outside very pleasurable. The nearby town of Cabarete, 5 mins drive away from the house, offers fantastic dining and shopping. There is also a decent supermarket that has most everything you want or need. However if you really want to go to grocery store that has everything we are used to finding at home then a simple 10-15 min drive west will take you to a SuperPola that is like the equivalent of Whole Foods in the DR. Definitely hire the chef the villa offers. Catalino made us great food using local ingredients and local recipes as well. We were so pleased! The owner, Frank, was very quick to respond to any questions and his recommendations were great. He is organized and professional. Close to the airport, close to town and a reasonable drive to other attractions. THIS is the place you want to stay. The Marcus family vacation was a hit. Thanks Frank!

Excellent stay at this apartment

5 of 5
We have stayed at this apartment 7 people between Mar 10 and Mar 17 2015. Booking this place was very easy due to the excellent communication we received from Indira. A taxi big enough for us waited at the airport to transfer us to the building. We even used the driver's services for a grocery run and to a local fish market restaurant, The Fishnet, which was enjoyable. We only had to pay at the end of day. While not too cheap, it was preferable until we oriented ourselves to take the local minivans for $1USD/person. Of course, we had to share it with other people, but when going to another beach, like the lovely Pebble Beach, it's no problem. As a result, we didn't even have to rent a car. The apartment was very presentable, with modern furniture and all the amenities one would want on a vacation like this: beach towels, lounge chairs beside the pool, that you could take out to the beach, as long as you took it back after you were done, walk out to the excellent beach, absolutely lovely waters. Our first few days we had big waves, but that didn't hamper our mood. The kitchen is stocked with a lot of condiments and cooking needs like flower, oil, sugar, ketchup, mustard, salt. We had some food waiting for us in the fridge: milk, eggs, Coke, beer, butter. There were bottle and can openers, sun lotion and after sun lotion, shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. All in all, we were very pleased with our choice. Out of the 3 bedrooms, 2 had ensuites and one bathroom was accesible from the hallway. Wi-fi was very good in the apartment. Our favorite spot was the balcony, where a constant breeze made us not feel the heat and enjoy the perfect view. The only drawback of the place is that you need to walk at least 20-25 minutes to get to a grocery store like Massy, or to St Lawrence Gap, where there was some night life. I can recommend this place to anyone, so much so, that we might even return.
