                      Perfect Getaway

                      5 of 5
We don't usually write reviews of places we've stayed. Think it is because of the let down at the end of a vacation, but mostly I think it is because I won't take the time. Tranquil Farm is the exception. My wife and I spent 2 weeks at Louise's cottage, such a wonderful home away from home. Everything you need for your daily outings, including: a beach bag, cooler, and some super comfy flashy beach chairs. Exceptional Island advice is also available from your hostess if requested. Gonna miss our daily run/walks with Ruby and Scabbers, such wonderful canine companions. Thank you Louise, our most gracious hostess, for such a fun, adventure filled, truly memorable vacation on your beautiful island. P.S. One day we hope to return to stay in your most exotic scenic new cottage on the hill.

                      Gorgeous, Friendly, rustic getaway

                      4 of 5
This is a fantastic cabin if you want to experience the real, rural Jamaica. It's miles from tourists. Every tree on the property is a fruit tree. The neighbors stroll over to hang out, make sure you're well, and bring fresh fruit from other trees. Glorious weather, this shack is in a remote, friendly village perched on a verdant mountain in banana groves overlooking Robins Bay. Tony introduced us to Narval, a taxi driver who we hired to drive us around. He was a good driver and a fun friend for the week. The cabin is at least a 20 minute drive from the beach, so that may not be great if you're looking for a beach holiday. The cabin was more rustic than we expected, with no hot water. We suggested they get a refrigerator, which they plan to do. Tip: make sure Gary fixes several dishes including vegetables with each meal. He can do some great vegetable dishes. We loved the "breadfruit". Overall, it was unforgettable and unique, but may not be for everyone.

                      Beautifully private

                      5 of 5
This property far exceeds the description. This place is certainly not for those who enjoy the resort experience. Tucked away in the middle of a lush rainforest you get to enjoy a private little cabin that has everything you need! A rental car is a must to get you around and once you have transportation sorted out there are dozens of beautiful hikes and excursions you can enjoy as day trips. The hostess was very helpful and went out of her way to ensure we felt comfortable in everyway. The directions to the property were excellent and we found our way, even in the dark. We took the hike to the boiling lake with Superman Rasta Ron as our guide ,it was well worth it !! Ron made the experience a special and memorable one and had just a great vibe about him, (we finished the day with a real sense of accomplishment and we couldn't have done it without him). Our plan was to stay for a week and we ended up booking another week because we fell in love with the place we were staying and Dominica in general. The river that runs just a short walk away is an exceptional added bonus to this property and the pictures on the web site don't do it justice. We will be back to this place and would recommend it highly. Thank you Noreen you have a real gem there hope to see you soon. K and D
