An amazing week at Pura Vida!

5 of 5
My family and I loved spending our week at Pura Vida during our last trip to St. John. The house is meticulously kept and offers everything to make your time in STJ exceptional. Having all the comforts of a beach home (coolers, beach chairs, snorkel equipment, even foam noodles for floating in the gentle Maho Bay waters!) made our visit even easier and more enjoyable, especially when traveling with two young children. John and Maura's attention to detail to create a comfortable and inviting villa was much appreciated by our family. Their thoughtful welcome bag from Sam & Jacks was delicious, and the deli became was a frequent stop throughout the week. The convenience of the house to Cruz Bay and the north shore beaches made it easily accessible to everything. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Amazing Villa Fortuna...Loved Our Vacation!

5 of 5
My husband and I and our two young children (ages 4 and 16 months) had such an amazing time at Villa Fortuna. The villa alone is simply wonderful...we were excited to return each day to our home base because it is such a peaceful, comfortable, and beautiful place to relax. The view from the terrace is stunning and such a pleasure to wake up to each morning. The villa is beautifully decorated with great furnishings and paintings on the walls that we loved. The villa has everything you need for your stay. Elliott (one of the owners) is very helpful and easy to communicate with, and Lydia is very helpful when you arrive. She sets you up in the villa and answers any questions you may have. There was also a lovely bottle of chilled wine waiting for us on the terrace when we arrived, such a nice touch! One of the great things about Villa Fortuna is that it overlooks a really beautiful pool. It is open to everyone in the villa complex, but it often felt like it was our very own private pool! The kids loved it so much and it was perfect for us since it was literally right outside our door. There is even a children's pool connected to the main pool. You can't ask for much more! In addition to all of this, we also had the use of the Wyndham Hotel's facilities and pools, beach, spa, and restaurants there. The main hotel pool is great for kids with a water slide and another kiddie pool. We ate a couple of meals at the hotel which was a nice option to have if we felt like staying local, but we mostly ate our dinners outside of the Wyndham at other restaurants in Rio Grande and Loquillo. We ate most of our breakfasts at the villa looking out at the gorgeous views. My husband and I kept saying how much we loved just being in the villa, and how the kids loved being there, too. My 4 year old son just told me when I tucked him into bed that he missed "our vacation house" and "our pool"! I miss it, too! Wish we were still there. I could go on and on...I can't say enough good things about Villa Fortuna. We would love to return for another memorable stay.

Great vacation

5 of 5
Had a really good vacation with me and my friends. Home owners are incredibly attentive with responding to emails at any time of the day or night. Staff was very nice and pleasant. Food costs are not cheap about the same price as shopping for food in the United states. Food that was cooked was good and impressed me and my friends. Felt very safe because the community of villas is a bit hidden on this hill over looking the beach, and we had a security guard at night. The walk to the beach is about 5-10 minutes and it is pretty steep. We rented out scooters which was really fun and went up and down with ease. Pool water could of been warmer that would of been excellent. If your looking for villas with 5 or more bedrooms this area is probably best according to one of the cab drivers, apparently there aren't many villas near the beach with that many bedrooms. Cab rides are a bit expensive, if you plan on visiting Sousa would recommend a rental, otherwise make sure you bargain with everybody since you probably can get a better price when your down there. Overall I would recommend this villa and it is probably the best vacation me and my friends have ever been on, we had a blast.
