Amazing views!

4 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Calabas- my husband, my 5 year old and myself. Right as you walk in to the home, the view is amazing!! You just can't beat it, really. The open concept of the home allows for the wind to easily flow through the home and you experience a constant and wonderful breeze. The pool is a really nice size pool and the set up around it makes it truly private, while the upstairs deck allows you to enjoy the sunset. I was a bit concerned that there is a road right by the house, but it is rarely used, so there is no traffic or car noise at all. The location is also great, as you are near to all high-rise hotel activities, downtown or easily head out anywhere on the island for some exploring (we did both). The house was more than complete with utensils, dishes, pots, pans, etc-- and I really appreciated that the plates were all a nice ceramic white, glasses matched also. In other words, it was done with thoughtfulness and consideration to detail, which I personally appreciate. JP and Eve were really great and attentive if ever we needed them for anything or any questions. Thanks JP, Eve and Eveline for your attention! The Conlons

Beautiful Mountain Retreat!

5 of 5
This modern, comfortable Casa was awonderful retreat for our time in central PR. We loved the open feeling and wonderful cross draft when all the doors and windows were open. The antique doors and windows gave a sense of what it would have been like to live on a hacienda 100 years ago. The wrap around deck offered wonderful views at all times of day and in any weather. After spending a couple of weeks on the coast we loved the cooler nighttime temps as well as watching the occasional shower and mountain top fog. Although the property is gated and very secure, we loved seeing the free range chickens, cats, dogs, and even a couple of horses enjoying the property. The yard is large and beautifully landscaped with many tropical plants and flowers. The close proximity of the river, the sound of birds during the day and coquie frogs after dark completed the peaceful environment. The kitchen, bathrooms, and all the rest of the rooms that we used were richly appointed and very user friendly. We toured all the local attractions, the petroglyphs , Cemi Museum, Hacienda San Pedro, Pito Rico distillery, as well as many scenic roads. We also loved le Jayuyana Bakery on route 144, great pastries and wonderful grilled sandwiches at very reasonable prices. Econos was our go to grocery store. We found that a lot of people speak only Spanish, but they were always very friendly and willing to help in any way they could. This was our first trip to PR, but fell in love with it, and will definitely come again! The owner was very easy to deal with and very helpful in showing us everything to do with the house and suggesting places we may want to visit.
