One of a kind property!

5 of 5
While I am not rich, I have travelled extensively around the world including to some of the most beautiful islands. I have to say that while this is not the most expensive or biggest home I have stayed in it is one of the best. Where do I start. First, the villa is located close to town, beach and the local restaurants. Walking from the villa to the beach is less than 10 minutes and is a quick and scenic trip because you must pass through town to get to the beach. It's also great exercise because the walk back to the villa from the beach is mostly uphill. Not a problem for me since I am a New Yorker and I walk a lot. If you can't hack walking back then there is a 24 hour taxi service that will take you back to the villa in 2 minutes. The villa is in a gated development with friendly security guards who stroll the premises and is located close to the main security gate which is the only way in and out of the development (which is huge) as far as I could tell. When you walk up the stairs to the villa you immediately see the huge pool and the villa is set back off the street which offers a lot of privacy. The pool is fully tiled in white and the crystal clear water is very inviting. The pool deck is beautiful and bright and I spent a lot of time on the deck because the sun hits the deck for most of the day. The weather was in the 80's for most of our stay and sunny but not too hot. It did rain a couple of the days while I was there as it was nearing the end of the rainy season but never for long and bugs did not seem to be a problem after the rain stopped (but I kept a bottle of Off handy just in case). We did order the chef while there and she was fantastic. Her fish and beans, pancakes and eggs, shrimp pasta and pepper steak are awesome. She also surprised us with a delicious chocolate cake since we were celebrating a birthday which was a kind gesture. Like the chef, the rest of the maids and staff were very helpful and friendly. The staff, villa, development and location are well-deserving of 5 stars and I would recommend this villa to even my most demanding friends.

5 Days of Absolute Paradise!

5 of 5
We had the pleasure of staying in Jen and Bill's wonderful home over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. What an amazing find in beautiful Rincon! First off, Jen and Bill are so awesome to deal with. We never felt like they were far away. If we had any issues, they were a quick hone call away. The property is secured by a security gate and the grounds of the complex are clean and gorgeous. The beach is a two minute walk away! The beach is semi private, so we never saw more than 3 people on it. The house is jaw dropping. The decor is out of this world! We've never seen so many authentic pieces of Puerto Rican art! Every nook and cranny of the house has a story to be told. Everyday we would wake up and find something new and charming about this place. This place is stocked up! Every cookware you could imagine, complimentary cocktails, toiletries are provided as well if you need them. A/C was very pleasant and the rooftop terrace with the hot tub??? Wow factor of 11! We have stayed in many places in Rincon and this is, by far, our favorite! We're hoping to continue a Thanksgiving tradition with a stay at Casa de Buena Fortuna! Thanx Jen and Bill for an unforgettable experience!

A beautiful apartment with an unrivalled sea view.

4 of 5
The apartment is clean, beautifully furnished and well equipped. More important, it is very secure, the latter an important consideration as the neighbourhood is a little run down and looks seedy. We loved the sea views and enjoy watching surfers braving the cold waters while eating breakfast at the dining table. But we do have to major complaints which I think other guests need to know. First on the list is the mattress. It is worn down and dips into two soft depressions when my husband and I slept on it. It offers no support to the body and for those with back problems, this is really bad news. My husband is such a patient. After one restless night, He could hardly stand up straight the next morning and had to wear his corset for support during the rest of the trip and also slept on the floor rather than on the bed. The second problem was the air conditioning which makes a racket when turned on. It was impossible to sleep with it is running in the bedroom because of the noise. We resolved the problem by running the living room unit and leaving the bedroom door open so that the air circulates through to the bedroom. Not the most ideal solution but it was otherwise impossible to sleep without air conditioning. Even though we had to live with the above problems, we still enjoyed our stay.
