Beautiful Villa, Great Owner and Awesome Vacation

5 of 5
From the moment you enter Archie's villa located on the beautiful Wyndham Rio Mar Property about 30 - 35 minutes from San Juan, you feel like you are home. The home is beautifully decorated and comes with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. With 2 adults and 2 children (12&15) in the villa, it was more space than we needed. The bunk beds are so comfortable, I slept in one for the entire trip and gave my wife the huge King bed in the Master Bed Room. The rooms are larger than the photos show and the place is super spotless. Even though it can get very hot in PR, the villa has air conditioners in every room which cool all the rooms in minutes. We visited a local supermarket on our first day and used the kitchen every morning for breakfast. This saved us a ton of money. We used the passes Archie provides and had a blast at the hotel beach and pool. One day we used the Owners pool and beach access, where it was much more relaxing. The villa even has boogie boards which the kids used to ride some awesome waves. At the end of our trip, we used the washing and drying machines located a few steps from the villa and did all our laundry before heading home. Coming home with no laundry is a huge time saver. While there, eat at the local kiosks in Luquillo (trust me, they are really good) on Rt 3, go horseback riding at the Hacienda Carabali (http://www.carabalirainforestpark.com/horsebackriding.php) and definitely, definitely learn to surf with Briand and Eric at La Pared in Luquillo Beach (http://www.kayakingpuertorico.com/pages/surfing-lessons.html). If you are thinking of visiting PR or the Rio Mar area, don't waste your money and stay at the hotel. For about the same or even less money, you can have your own villa with all the benefits of home. I highly recommend this property and we all can’t wait to come back!

Excellent location, so-so amenities

4 of 5
I gave this 4 stars, but 3.8 of that is for the location. Steps from a great beach with a low population, excellent local restaurants and markets - you simply can't beat where this house is located. On the down side, there is a public access point right next to the house. Local fishermen and beach users drive down fairly regularly - if that bothers you, be aware. The house is smaller than it looks, but that's mitigated by a large open deck accessed thru two sets of double doors you can leave open. I was disappointed by the furnishings; the only chairs were hard plastic table chairs and loungers - nothing cushioned to sit on except the futon (which serves as the 5th and 6th occupant sleeping area). No beach chairs, nor were there any beach towels. When we arrived, the beds were not made, even though our arrival date and time was known ahead - not a big issue, but annoying. The beds were very uncomfortable for the price of the rental... the futon was the most comfortable place to sleep, if that tells you anything. There were rules posted everywhere, listing all the things you could not do (including drinking alchohol). While I think some of these were simply to cover the owner for liability, again, it was simply annoying. The shower head fell off every time the water was turned off, so I tied a plastic shopping bag around it to hold it steady. Lastly, if you have little kids, be aware of the fire ants... anywhere you have grass, look for the tell tale little hills of fine dirt. Those things hurt when they bite! All said, I would consider renting this place again, only for the location - but I would strongly suggest the owners consider updating the furniture and providing some alternative outdoor seating - this place could be a real gem with only a bit of effort.

We loved our vacaction at Adam & Evr

5 of 5
Because we'd never been to Turks and Caiicos, we were worried about the location of Adam & Eve but when we arrived we found it perfect. We kayaked and rode bikes to beaches and restaurants. And we rented a half day fun boat that picked us up at the private dock. The house was large and comfortable and was in the exact condition as the photos advertised. The rental staff was very helpful. It's very tempting to pack up and move to Turks and Caicos
