Lovely place for a secluded relaxing vacation in the Bahamas

4 of 5
In general, the Waters Edge is a lovely place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxing vacation in The Bahamas. It is well-maintained and has easy access to clear waters for snorkeling. While we were there, we saw several manta rays along with the usual fish seen when snorkeling. A few items to note: 1. The mattresses in 3 of the 4 rooms were not comfortable and need to be replaced (along with adding a box spring to one of the beds). Of the 6 adults staying at the house, 4 slept on the couch at one point during our stay and a 5th adult would have if the couch was not already occupied. 2. If you’re looking to enjoy the nightlife of Nassau or Paradise Island, you should know that the house is located in a residential area approximately 5 miles from the main tourist area. You will either need to rent a car (and search for parking downtown) or be prepared to use a taxi for your trips (costs about $25 each way). There is a phone in the home you can use for local calls, and in Nassau taxis are plentiful for the return trip. We used Joe’s Taxi (recommended by the owner) for most of our transportation needs. Joe’s was very accommodating, prompt and had reasonable rates. 3. If you plan on dining in during your stay, the nearest grocery store is approximately a mile away (on the other side of a hill – good to know if walking) but you can order groceries (and charcoal) online for delivery. When we arrived, we also had Joe stop at a grocery store and liquor store before taking us to the house, which worked well. There are no restaurants within easy walking distance. 4. The beaches near the home are public beaches, rocky and, in general, not well maintained. You will see broken bottles and other garbage on the beaches. Not good for small children. This does not reflect on the quality of the property, but something good to know if you are hoping to spend time on the beach.

Just spent 10 fabulous days at Aqua Dreams

5 of 5
The professional touches are everywhere and all the décor fits well with the home's title Aqua Dreams. The contemporary styling is so comfortable and we loved the brand new furnishings. We slept like babies in the king size beds and the desk/vanities were so helpful as we did some computer work while we were there. The WiFi was easy to use, so we didn't miss a thing. I loved cooking in the beautiful kitchen with its huge island. All the appliances work so well and are the latest of updates. We appreciated having the private toilet rooms and private showers in the very large bathrooms. We especially loved the architectural touches with the amazing ceilings which reach above 20 feet. You really have a great feeling of spaciousness throughout as you look out at the view of the turquoise sea. We enjoyed hearing the waves while outside checking out the views. The 40 foot deck has beautiful new outdoor furnishings including a sectional and lounge chairs along with tables and chairs for a leisurely meal. We also sat at the outdoor community gazebo and enjoyed watching the waves in the afternoons after taking a dip in the water. We got some great use out of the two 2 seater kayaks and were happy the owners supplied life vests too. We had such a wonderful time at Aqua Dreams and know you will too and highly recommend it for a lovely vacation.

Solitude found at Jasmine

5 of 5
My husband and I have had the amazing fortune of staying at Jasmine many, many times over the last few years. Gail, the homeowner, goes above and beyond to ensure her guests are well-informed for their visit to this lovely get away in paradise. From the moment we first step into Jasmine, we begin to feel the stresses of life disappear. The love, sweat and tears are all evident of Gail's love for Jasmine. There really is no aspect of Jasmine that has been overlooked. An early morning mug of coffee, or tea along with a good book on the screened in porch is an excellent means of relaxation! In the early morning hours before dawn, you can hear the waves roll in and out on the beach beneath Jasmine, which for us is absolute music to our ears! The outdoor shower, along with the privacy of the backyard is the perfect place to de-sand yourself after a day of fun at any of the SEVERAL secluded beaches the island has to offer. The side deck off of the kitchen is extremely convenient when grilling lunch or dinner, not to mention the view of the ocean is breathtaking. Watching the sun rise over the ocean never gets old, whether on the beach or sitting on the screened in porch, it is always mesmerizing. Likewise, sunsets on the Carib side offer a wide variety of the color spectrum. Jasmine is one of those places you visit and don't ever want anyone else to know about because you want to keep the 'secret to yourself'. We fell in love with both Jasmine and the Island of Eleuthera pretty much immediately the first time we visited. Those feelings continue to grow every time we are fortunate enough to make the trip. If you're looking for solitude, a retreat from the everyday hustle and bustle, LOOK NO FURTHER! You've arrived!
