Great Girls Getaway

5 of 5
We had a great time at the house. The home is much cuter in person that in the pictures. We enjoyed the outdoor patio, and wished it wasn't raining so we could have utilized it more. Cleanup was very easy and made our stay a breeze. Thank you!

Villa Review

4 of 5
This property is in a beautiful setting and was very quiet. Frogs were chirping in the pond below the property, and lots of birds in the area. The beds were extremely comfortable! If the weather were warmer, we would have spent more time out on the deck using the hot tub. The rooms were roomy; the sofas in the living room were comfortable; wifi was easy to set up; the DVD player was easy to use. The kitchen was perfect as we did cook 3 meals while we stayed there, but 2 of the burners on the stove didn't light. We were able to get one to finally light but we had to keep the gas on for too long to be safe. The showerhead in the bathroom was spurting water all over the room, and then came off in my hand when I tried to fix it. My son was able to fix it better but it's not on there very well. Would have appreciated shower gel or bar soap in the shower instead of hand gel. Also would have been nice to have at least 1 night's worth of wood for the woodstove as the property is a long ways from town. Overall, though, we had a wonderful time, and the one time I called Michelle, the housekeeper, she was very helpful.

so close and yet it seems so far away

5 of 5
first off---its doggie heaven....lots of completely enclosed yard for them to play and explore. my 4 doxies braved the cold and explored every nook and crevasse they could find. as for me, it was a wonnerful little cottage with everything that you would need. for one of the coldest winters they have had- we stayed warm thanks to the central heating. i closed off the front bdrm and used the back bdrm. the bed was comfy. the kitchen was cozy and fully appointed. as i usually travel with my whole kitchen- i scaled down this time and found it not lacking in anything. the only slight drawback is the poor basic cable options available in that area--mostly local channels and such. luckily, i brought along my mac and monitor and was able to use the great house WIFI to access netflix and hulu to watch movies/etc. talk about instant hot water in the shower---IT WAS GREAT!!BEING SO COLD I DID NOT WANT TO BE STANDING UNDER A COLD SHOWER FOR MINUTES. bring a flashlite and do what the locals do when walking at nite--have it on and swinging so oncoming traffic can see you--it is very dark--not like living in the big city. i walked to the local restaurants and found them serving great food. especially liked the Glen Ellen Star(FARM TO TABLE)--great friendly service staff and fantastic food. the brussel sprouts broiled in a small cast iron skillet smothered with bacon bits---LOTS OF BACON BITS--was to die for. for breakfast i went to the Glen Ellen Garden restaurant. for great mexican food, i went to El Molino Central. try the niman farms pork tamales---real good and brought back fondled memories of my grandmas cooking in chihuahua. the cottage is a great little place with a huge yard and very centrally located...i went on day trips to napa, sonoma, clearlake, petaluma, sabastopol and santa rosa--all easy drives. the glen ellen village market is a good place to find most food items--its bigger version in sonoma carries an even wider selection of local wines cheeses and local meats. lastly and most importantly, Georg was always available via text to answer my questions--very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas my doggies and i will be back---we will wait for the summer time when its above freezing....us angelenos are not used to cold!!!
