What a great memorable stay in Napa!!

5 of 5
My wife and I planned this trip (ourselves and 4 adult family members to experience Napa) for at least 6 months and so much hinged on how well we would like this house and location. After a week stay we highly recommend this property. Location was excellent! House was even better than the pictures. We had planned a full week of sightseeing, tastings and immersion in the Napa experience we have come to love. Even included a day trip into SF for a baseball game and sightseeing. The house and hospitality of everyone involved with the house was phenomenal. First night in the house we experienced a 6.1 earthquake at 3:20am. There was much damage to contents but the house and the 6 of us were quite shaken but unharmed. Having never experienced anything like that we called to see if there was anything we should do (where to turn off gas, etc). Mike came out within 20-30 minutes to check on us, even though he had experienced significant damage at his home as well. He helped get us settled down and was back at 9am with a crew to start the full clean-up. We went off to enjoy our Napa plans and that is how the rest of the week went as well. Mike (manager) and Thom (owner) took such good care of us (replaced furniture as needed, lots of dishes and glassware, etc, cleaned carpets and rugs, etc). And virtually all of that was done while we were out enjoying Napa and Sonoma. The house was great and accommodated three couples very nicely. So fun to come back at the end of each day and prepare and enjoy evening meals, great wine and gorgeous sunsets from the deck. Mornings brought the hot air balloons across the sky which was so fun to see. All in all the trip my wife and I had so much hope for being a truly memorable experience turned out to be exactly that! And the earthquake became just an added historic experience that was completely unexpected by us. Clearly building codes have been designed well for newer construction in the area as, structurally, the house was seemingly unscathed. Much praise to Thom and Mike and all who helped them throughout the week. We could not recommend this property more highly. We will clearly return to Napa and will look forward to staying at this property as often as we can.

Amazing relaxation in gorgeous wooded compound

5 of 5
The Elements was a perfect vacation rental for a group of friends! As we pulled up the long drive into a shady redwood glen, we knew our stray would be wonderful. The main house looks exactly as photographed, the grounds are superior! A lovely pea gravel patio with comfy seating around a fire pit (and sticks for roasting marshmallows), and built in barbecue , Buddha fountain and hammock appoint the grounds. The two guest houses are comfortable and complete, all clean and easy to figure out. We took a moonlight soak in the hot tub while enjoying local wine. The stars were multitudinous and the stoic redwoods enclosed us in a dramatic glen. The kitchen had all the utensils, plates, glasses etc. that we needed to cook, and the pantry provided spices, oils and pepper towels. It was so beautiful and luxurious, we spent a day just hanging out on the property, taking walks in the woods, and swinging in the hammock. Just 10 minutes to guerneville, the locations was very private, yet convenient to shops and activities. Excellent! We will stay again.

Great Location...Great Hosts

5 of 5
This studio apartment was the perfect location for our four day visit to wine country. Ideal for visiting in the Healdsburg, Santa Rosa, Calistoga, St. Helena and Dry Creek areas but also with easy access to Sonoma and Napa. The property itself was comfortable, clean and well-stocked. The pictures on the webpage showed exactly what we found. It was the view from the balcony that sold us on the webpage and it did not disappoint in person. We started each day with coffee on the balcony and ended it with a soak in the hot tub beautifully situated in the trees. Julie and Tony strike the perfect note as hosts. They make you feel welcome while at the same time honouring your privacy and independence. We spent a half hour with them shortly after arriving and received many wonderful recommendations for vineyards, restaurants and other activities in the area. Take notes... each recommendation was a winner whether it was for restaurants or vineyards or picnic spots or for events going on in the area. Our favourite restaurants included the seafood plates at Willi's in Healdsburg, the tapas at Bravas and the wine pairing dinner on Thursday night at Flavour in Santa Rosa. Julie also recommended Farmer's markets where we could purchase picnic supplies and the best vineyards for picnic spots. (Truett Hurst) We highly recommend this location, especially for couples looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway in California wine country.
