To be honest, we picked up this house by chance: the location seemed to be near everything that counts and the photographs were great.
As we are French, leaving in Paris, we are always looking for very romantic places but convenient too.
Actually, we found out that this house was ten times nicer than we could see on photographs.
As I work on the art market, I was first thrilled by the Danish style furniture and vintage lamps. The light seems to have been specifically designed for the house, giving a very intimate and romantic atmosphere.
Every object (vase, book, painting, sculpture…) seems to have been chosen at an antic dealer’s and put at the right place. This shows a great taste and sense of decoration from the owner.
The garden (larger than what you can see on the photographs) is an island of peace and seems like an extra room. Tropical flowers and plants, a big tree decorated with colorful electric lanterns give at night a very oriental atmosphere, in a “One Thousand and One Nights” style.
Every day we spent there remains in our memory. Like every tourist we moved around LA area but every day we were looking forward being back to the house to have a great evening, sipping wine, listen to music, chatting, dreaming… As I have to work even in vacation, I can say that the house is a great place to work in, being inspired and creative.
This place has a very good Feng Shui since you feel full of energy and relaxed at the same time.
Few words about the convenient parts: the bedroom has a very comfortable bed for perfect nights and big closets and a chest if you are the type to travel with your complete wardrobe (as I am). Everything for cooking in a very nice kitchen, great shower, effective wifi…
About location: 5 minutes from Abbot Kinney (the Champs-Elysées of Venice, coffee-shops, restaurants, shops) walking along the charming California avenue, 7 minutes from Ralph’s (supermarket), 15 minutes from the beach, all the buses you need, no problem to park in the street.
And guess what? We will be back this summer.
