A COZY COTTAGE WITH BREATHTAKING VIEWS OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN

5 of 5
The pictures you see on the website don't do this property justice. In fact, I became very frustrated with my own pictures-- because I could never quite capture the the amazing views my eyes were taking in. This property is a true find if you want solitude, privacy, and ownership of the Pacific. Perched high on a bluff overlooking a rocky beach, the views from the living room are 180 degrees. The house itself (2 bedroom, 1 bathroom) is nothing terribly modern or spacious, but it didn't matter, because my wife and I never wanted to leave the main room with the big picture windows. Fortunately, there is a full size futon in front of those windows, and a gas fireplace directly to the right. Nothing compared to sleeping to the stars at night and waking up to the vastness of water in front of us. Again, don't expect a modern house. This cottage was probably built in the 50's, and the bathroom fixtures (pedestal sink and claw foot tub with curtains) are era appropriate. But it does come with expanded cable tv and HBO, a spacious, open kitchen... and memories of relaxation to last a lifetime. One word of caution: as this property is off an unpaved road, I would not recommend driving a low-suspension vehicle up to the house. The road has a few potholes and a raised center in some areas that could scrape the bottom of subcompacts and sports cars.
