Perfect for our girls' weekend!

5 of 5
Let me start by saying that Napa was the perfect place for 9 of us ladies to celebrate turning 40! And Scarlett's Country Inn was the ideal spot for us to gather and spend quality time together. Jennifer and Bob were wonderful to deal with and were very responsive to our questions and needs. The home is lovely and charming, nestled among the vineyards and set back from the main road. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of linens were provided. Just a few things to take note of. There is only a mini fridge in the main farmhouse and another in the cottage. The full size fridge is located out back by the pool - just a minor inconvenience. The stairs in the farmhouse are very steep, so if you have elderly or infirm people in your group, they should probably plan to sleep on the main floor. The wireless connection isn't great. You can expect to be disconnected multiple times until you find the sweet spot in the house that works pefectly. On the plus side, the location is wonderful! We were within 20 minutes of all of the restaurants and wineries we wanted to visit. There are multiple outdoor seating areas to enjoy. One night, we sat at the long table under the lights and enjoyed a wonderful home cooked meal. Another night, we sat around the fireplace under a sky full of stars, sipping some delicious wine. We truly enjoyed our visit and would return to Scarlett's again!

Serenity and convenience

5 of 5
This was an absolutely fabulous stay! The cottage was just as described and had everything we needed. The setting was private and quite - we loved sitting outside at night and looking up at the stars. In the daytime it was very peaceful. It was also very convenient to the great restaurants in town (be careful walking back after sunset as it can be quite dark - but that's the beauty of this lovely village) and a great little market. The owners were very responsive to questions and helpful about our stay. I got the sense that they love the area and know how to entertain! We would have loved to remain many more days just to relax on the property. Can't say enough about it- go see for yourselves!

Casa Cabernet--the best Cabernet in Napa Valley

5 of 5
Given that this has the potential to get lengthy, let me summarize: you will fall in love with Casa Cabernet. As others have previously reported, the cottage itself is perfectly located, tastefully decorated and well-appointed. It is extremely well-designed and its open floor plan, coupled with cathedral-style ceilings and expansive sliders from both the living and bedroom areas to the private patio, make for a much larger indoor/outdoor living space than one would expect. As inviting as the cottage is, I found it hard to stay inside given the beauty of the grounds and the majestic 360 degree views present on this property. While nestled amidst vineyards, the property itself is park-like—beautifully planted and meticulously landscaped—all against a beautiful mountain backdrop. There are numerous outdoor seating options, including the dining table on the patio and picnic tables and benches under beautiful grape arbors. Take it all in with a glass of wine and make sure not to miss the stars at night. Serene? Idyllic? Absolutely! Casa Cabernet is ideally located, minutes to the main street of St. Helena, and close to a myriad of wineries, shops, and, yes, Dean and DeLuca. It is also an easy drive to Yountville, Calistoga or the town of Napa. As it relates to location, I would simply add one other “new” comment: the property is part of a truly beautiful “neighborhood,” providing an ideal setting for early morning or evening walks or bike rides. This location provides the perfect combination of being close to nature and, at the same time, fine wine and dining. I was reminded of the line from the movie, Field of Dreams, “is this heaven?” The cottage and the property are extremely clean and well-maintained. It would be easy to attribute this to the hard work exhibited by the weekly maid and gardening services. Their efforts notwithstanding, I suspect that it is more a reflection of the owner’s pride in and, love of, her property and the attention to detail that she strives for. She is extremely focused on ensuring that your experience at Casa Cabernet is a pleasant one and has struck the perfect balance of displaying heartfelt hospitality while affording as much privacy as you would desire. This is a special property owned by a truly special individual. I am confident you will enjoy it.
