This apartment was great. It had everything we needed for a family of four, but could've easily accommodated six. The apartment is very large extremely well appointed and in a fabulous location. You have easy access to the entire city. Restaurants and shops are close at hand. For those of you who like to cook, this apartment comes with a beautiful kitchen that has all the basics. Although it is not well enough equipped to handle gourmet cooking, you can do very nicely. The local groceries, a Safeway and a whole foods, or about two blocks away This said, the neighborhood restaurants are all very good and generally inexpensive, so if you don't want to cook, don't worry.
There are a few important things to know about this apartment that may affect your decision to rent. First, you have to climb a fairly long narrow flight of stairs to get to the apartment. For most people this is not a problem. Second, if you are going to have a rental car, parking is a at a premium. No parking zones rotate to allow for trash pickup and street cleaning. Daytime parking is two hours or with a permit. Our wonderful hosts offered to let us use their parking tag but we felt bad about it so we never took them up on their offer. We did not find the parking to be a big issue. We parked in different places, read the signs, and we were out all day in any event. Third, and this was for us a minor inconvenience, there is only one bathroom and is equipped with a traditional "ball and claw" bathtub, which one of my children found difficult to manage with those minor caveats I wholeheartedly recommend this unit. By the way, the property owners are incredible glass artists. Check out their work for sure. It is amazing.
