Superb rental

5 of 5
This is the third time that I have rented an apartment in SF through VRBO. All have been excellent, but this is by far the best one yet. The Apartment is wonderfully located within easy walking distance to the Marina and Presidio, and not much farther from Fisherman's wharf. This apartment offers one everything that they would want in a rental, including a very pretty private patio. This is the perfect place for a couple. Everything is compact, but incredibly well thought out. The owners provide almost everything one needs including a pantry that has those essentials needed to cook. Bicycles are even provided and with the encouragement of Linda I rode across the Golden Gate Bridge, something that I had not anticipated doing. It was an incredible way to experience the Golden Gate. This is the very best rental I have ever had in SF.

Fantastic Location, Large and Very Clean Apartment

5 of 5
My daughter and I stayed in this apt and we loved it. I have rented apartments in several other large cities: Manhattan, Chicago and Boston. This apt was definitely the best. It's much larger than other city rentals, plus it has a washer and dryer which is very rare (Mike also had laundry detergent there for your use). Also for a city rental we were pleasantly surprised that there really was not much noise. The apt was very clean, kitchen was well equipped with everything including paper towels and dish soap. A few reviewers have mentioned that there is no coffee maker just a coffee press. (I goggled how to use a coffee press which was very easy and my coffee was just as good). The bed was very comfortable and the sheets and towels were good quality. There are 3 flights of stairs but it really was not a big deal especially after navigating the hills in San Francisco. The location is fantastic, 2 of the 3 cable car lines are right there on Mason Street. We used the 2 Clipper Cards everyday which saved us a lot of money. My daughter loved riding the cable cars and we rode them several times each day! The apt is on the edge of China Town and the Nob Hill Area, both are great neighborhoods to explore and have wonderful restaurants. Mike was also very easy to work with and I will definitely try to stay here on my next visit to San Fran.

Pretty good, but updates needed.

4 of 5
Four of us stayed here for 4 nights in April 2014. The location of the apartment is great and we were happy to always find free street parking within 1-2 blocks of the apartment. Check-in/out was flexible with the key lock box. We enjoyed how spacious the apartment was but the bathrooms could use updating (curtain rod would fall over, only one hair dryer, humid/poor ventilation). The bedrooms are a bit noisy as the street is busy and the back bedroom had a lot of pigeons roosting outside that were up very early in the morning. We did not use the kitchen and the living room had basic cable for TV watching and enough seating for 4 people. This apartment would be quite tight for 6 people. We also did not use the coin-op laundry in the building so cannot comment on that feature. This is a good deal for central SF if you are traveling with a group and on a budget. Note: This apartment does not have AC which means you may need to open windows at night to cool down which may make for street noise to be more disturbing.
